Well - We had a good time
This is a story of pros and cons (while this listing is the one I booked, it is not the one I stayed at)
Pro - I booked the property 6 months in advance with no issues
Con - Owner texted and messaged me 5 days before the Indy 500 to see if I wanted to go to another property or cancel my booking (I ended up at the alternate mystery property
Pro - Didn't have to sleep in a parking lot over night
Con - I had to consider sleeping in a parking lot over night
Pro - Owner is very responsive
Con - I was given the wrong address and wandered around looking for it and the local called the police on me at 11:30 pm
Pro - The house is very cute
Con - The house is less than 100 ft from the freight train that runs through the neighborhood EVERY 2-3 hours (day or night) blowing the horn
Pro - Hot water works great!
Con - Woke up to 60 degrees and the heat doesn't make heat. It circulates air like crazy though
Pro - Brand new appliances
Con - the oven is slotted in so tight it scrapes the wall
Pro - arrived to a nicely set table and snacks
Con - There isn't an extra anything, anywhere. Had to go out and get blankets and a pillow because...
Pro - bedroom is a nicely made up room with a full size bed
Con - Couch does not fold out and there are zero extra blankets. My brother and I did not wish to double up for the weekend
Look, mistakes happen. The owner gave me a discount, and the place did look decent. It is not a "Luxury Property". The neighborhood is up and coming but recovering from urban decay. This place had been finished-ish within days of me being there. I'm glad I had someplace to stay. Was it worth it? No. Would I stay there again? No.
Overall, they screwed up, but didn't leave me with no place to stay. Fortunately I am just left with a funny story and no harm done.
