The online pictures versus the actual condition of the room and property were misleading. The room we had (#208) was very dated, water damage in the ceiling, crown molding separated ftom ceiling, base mokding rotten and separated from wall. The overall room condition was clean and housekeeping was very attentive. The general consensus from other guests was they need to update the rooms to reflect the steep prices. Overall the location and stay was nice but doubtful we would stay here again. There are other places with better amenities and cheaper rates. The food was excellent! The beach and pool vibe was very relaxed. There was music on the deck where we had lunch and you could hear the music by the pool. We also walked to the Hemingway museum. Then there was a significant water leak which flooded our room while we were out for a walk and soaked our suitcases. The repair man came while we were having dinner, however, when we returned the leak was starting to pool water in our room again. The hotel offered to switch us to a standard room and a $200 refund which I felt was rich when we had booked a suite. The location , pool, little private beach area , 0 Duval restaurant, chart room , spa , hair salon , etc all make this property hard to beat ! Levi and all the other wonderful staff are always so helpful and pleasant . I really love everything about the pier house. Friendly & helpful staff at checkin and the young man that took our luggage to our room. We visited all on property restaurants, bars, the gym, the pool and the beach! It was really all great! It started with the numerous text I received to register with Open Key in order to check in. The App didn’t work. I called the resort for help, got transferred around. It took 4 calls to reach someone to help. They are no longer using Open Key. We arrived around noon, the room wasn’t ready and were told they would text us. Never received a text. Went to the desk at 4pm, they told me to come back because the internet was down for three hours. I asked when, they didn’t know. I had to keep checking back to finally get a room at 5:30pm. Didn’t offer anything for the inconvenience. Everyday the beach was covered with sea grass, had to push it aside to get into the water. I prepaid for breakfast, was charged for gratuity for each day. The room was fine, the rest of the resort seemed dirty. We got frustrated with everything and checked out a day early.
