“Max 2 star property. We were given the room called ‘tiny double’ which was awful. The bedding and pillows smelt damp. The fire alarm went off whenever we used the shower because of the steam even when we kept the bathroom door closed. There was no floor space at all once our suitcase was opened. For just under £300 per night it is shocking. Breakfast was so basic. We ordered a full english for £18 but had for pay extra for toast?! We were told that because we booked via expedia we had to pay……

“My partner and me stayed during the first horrible heatwave in June, to get some respite in the AC that was featured in the amenities of the property. Not only was there AC in the room, but also in the pub/restaurant area! It was absolutely delightful - we struggled leaving!
The staff were so friendly and attentive; nothing was too much trouble. We were given a flask of fresh milk to have with tea/coffee in the room, and some freshly baked cookies.
I couldn’t get the shower to cool down, this……

His team working on Thursday evening (Rob and Molly) gave brilliant service in the restaurant.
The selection of food and flexibility of the kitchen was excellent. Awesome beer selection at the bar and a nice friendly bunch of locals to chat with after my meal.
Room was spotless with a very comfortable bed and very good size powerful shower
All in all a very good find.
Will definitely be back.”

“I was checked into a disability room, which although OK is designed for wheelchair users.
The sink was low and had no plug in it, so shaving was hard. The room was hot, and although there wasa fan, the window opened fully and wasn't safe to leave open overnight due to it being on the ground floor. The radiator front panel was falling off and the room had no desk/table to use for eating or work.
Whilst I appreciate this is a budget hotel, simple things like a plug and mending a broken radiator……
“We had a lovely 3 night stay here. The Stay was comfortable. The food was good. Only thing was the selection for breakfast, could have done with yogurt and a selection of fruit. Lovely location.”
