"We recently stayed at The Ellie for two nights, booking two rooms for three adults and three children. We specifically chose this resort because of its advertised family-friendly amenities and activities, as this trip was meant to be a special gift for the kids. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t match what was promoted on the website. It listed daily activities for both kids and adults at set times, but during our three-day stay, none of those activities took place. There was also no tiki bar open at the main pool, and while there was live music the evening we arrived, there was nothing offered after that. For the price we paid, we expected much more of a true “resort” experience. Check-in wasn’t until 4 PM, which is fairly standard, but the pool closes at 7:30 PM—leaving very little time to enjoy it after getting settled. The water slides, while fun, don’t open until after 11 AM. There are also no restrooms poolside; the only bathrooms are on the first floor. The women’s restroom was especially disappointing—it was out of soap and toilet paper for two days, even after staff was notified, and it was consistently dirty. We also experienced issues getting pool towels (none available until nearly noon one day), and many of the water spigots meant for rinsing sand off were broken or not working properly. "There was a lack of staff. The restaurants on property were closed or limited due to staffing. Trying to use an elevator was awful. It took a long time to get to your floor or over crowding on them due to the time it took. Walls are so thin you could hear your neighbors or the floor above you. The room smelled like mildew."

"Bathroom was not a good cleaning job & i hate finding random hairs all over. Just felt old and itchy there. Bed was nothing but noise/squeaky and would plop up matter how soft & lightly you sat down. Balcony was a very nice view. Pool was nice, could also use cleaning. Staff was absolutely amazing! Im glad it was only for some hours and not multiple nights. Place just overall seems outdated and could use some renovations and proper cleaning. "
