“I loved this place. When I go to England, I enjoy these smaller, transformed hotels much more than bigger ones and Hand and Spear has been the best. The room I got was spacious with ample wardrobe space and beautiful decor. The bath was insane with a beautiful claw foot tub. I’m very self-sufficient when I travel so I don’t expect a room made up each day but I’m sure they would accommodate you and they quickly brought extra towels when I asked. The thing is…my room had food and a little fridge……

“Although front desk services was a little bit long, overall score is very good. The hotel is a historical building and maintenance was good. My room is on the same floor near the reception counter and was clean and very spacious. The green and leafy environment makes you feel very relax and enjoy. There's Supermarket 15-30 minutes walk away. You can shop at Walton by taking a 461 bus for around 10mins distances. Clarks, H&M...,,, not so big but worth to visit.”

“Apart from reception, this pub is staffed entirely by untrained junior staff that want to leave you in no doubt that they don't want to be there. Room was not very clean, breakfast a poor show, and the decor beyond tired. Would have given it three stars though just simply because my evening meal was pleasant and the place is fantastic value for money - until I made the mistake of using the property's electric car chargers - DO NOT USE THEM! £25 for two hours and my charge rose 3%. Was in a……

“Room was nice and cosy , unfortunately had to leave for work every day to early for breakfast but there were some bits and pieces there if I wanted , plenty of hot water for a bath , bed was nice and comfortable, the only bad thing was someone had been in the room and taken my shampoo and razor the day before I left so could not was my hair or have a shave ”

“Staff were lovely. Room very dated, mattress so old it's like sleeping straight on the bed base, had to sleep on half the duvet just for a bit of softness. Window didn't close properly. Loose wires coming out of the wall. ”

“It wasn’t good at all, second day I went outside to meet a friend and gave the key back so I won’t lost it. When I came back and asked for the keys, she said we thought you have left already. I said I have booking for one more day. She already booked someone in my room their. What a night mare”
