"I was concerned after reading some of the reviews but we needn't have been. The communal spaces were lovely, beautifully decorated and elegant. we had an amazing room overlooking the gardens and the city. staff were very helpful. the parking situation is a bit stressful though"

"Staff were very helpful especially carrying our bags to and from our room. The room was very clean and the bed was soft and extremely comfortable. The room was in the basement and there are steps but they are broken up not continuous so weren’t too problematic for some one with slight mobility issues. The music and noise from the bar ended at 11pm and we didn’t experience any noise from outside or other guests. "

"Quite simply a very good hotel. Well located for rail station and then the city centre and thereabouts easily accessible on foot. Reception was good, breakfast had a great selection of the usual stuff plus a hot food menu option. Room was well equipped and clean. Went for the club deluxe option which did not disappoint. "The receptionist was very welcoming on arrival and we were checked in speedily. Our bedroom although small was well designed and very cosy. We ate an excellent dinner in the Forest Restaurant and breakfast was equally as good."
