Happy to have found this hidden gem. Rooms were nicely equipped. The location is amazing. Woke up to see the sunrise over the lake. Highly recommend!

While we didn't think this would be like a room at the Holiday Inn, we weren't prepared for the cute little room we got. The rooms are what used to be a RR station and have been upfitted with enough modern conveniences that you won't be disappointed - surprised, but not disappointed. Our room (and I assume the others are like this) was filled with gadgets, devices, and appliances that were vintage for the time the RR was operating and stopped there (think early 1900's). It was fun to try and figure out what these items were used for back in the day. They have WiFi, a refrigerator, a stove, and a microwave so you're not back in the 1900's yourself. It's an interesting mix of eclectic, nostalgic, and quaint. Very nice!

Comfortable beds. Pretty quiet rooms, newer windows, rugs. Little misunderstanding about what is a room with a kitchen. The kitchen was just the small dorm room refrigerator and a microwave, a tiny sink. Not a kitchen just normal in room microwave dinners. Also no elevator but we were aware of this as its an older motel. Swimming pool was nice and hot tub worked and was clean and shocked several times per day. They even provide some smaller towels and it had seperate changing rooms. Overall our 5 day stay was Comfortable minus the kitchen we thought we had.

Can’t for a quick getaway for a night. Overall, lovely property, clean rooms, clean lobby and breakfast/conference room. The only thing we were a little disappointed in was the hot tub in pool area was not hot. It was actually a tad cooler than the main pool. Beat worked fine. Would have been nice to utilize the hot tub after dinner and sight seeing the Brookings area. Continental breakfast was some of the best I’ve had in a while in a budget/mid-budget lodging. I enjoyed the many hot breakfast offerings-oatmeal bar, biscuits and gravy, eggs, potatoes, pancakes, AND waffles plus the pastry assortment. Having different selections of coffee and teas was also much appreciated.
