Myrtle Point Vacations from $589

We pulled into this booking at around 10pm. When we pulled up I was easily able to find and open the lock box. Once we parked our vehicle we were welcomed by a group of people who I only assume live here permanently (a little kid ran up and eagerly asked if we wold be moving in too). The room was full of mold in the bathroom and the rest of the room was cleaned in a mediocre way. My kids were horrified and kept asking that we please find somewhere else to sleep. It was too late at night and we braved the night. There was trash everywhere and the view was of garbage cans. There was no one to talk to in the lobby as it was all torn apart and being painted. This place goes down as Mom's worst pick of our vacation. I'm not sure if these other reviews are spams or what, but I'd stay clear if at all possible.

Check in was smooth process. The hotel looks old but they renovated the room a bit. It was loud but not bad as you are on the side of hwy 101. Overall not bad of an experience.

The rooms are always very nice, and we just love that you can hear the ocean all night, the BEST sound ever ! When ever we are in Brookings, we love to stay here, Right on the beach !!

While we didn't think this would be like a room at the Holiday Inn, we weren't prepared for the cute little room we got. The rooms are what used to be a RR station and have been upfitted with enough modern conveniences that you won't be disappointed - surprised, but not disappointed. Our room (and I assume the others are like this) was filled with gadgets, devices, and appliances that were vintage for the time the RR was operating and stopped there (think early 1900's). It was fun to try and figure out what these items were used for back in the day. They have WiFi, a refrigerator, a stove, and a microwave so you're not back in the 1900's yourself. It's an interesting mix of eclectic, nostalgic, and quaint. Very nice!
