Myrtle Point Vacations from $642

While we didn't think this would be like a room at the Holiday Inn, we weren't prepared for the cute little room we got. The rooms are what used to be a RR station and have been upfitted with enough modern conveniences that you won't be disappointed - surprised, but not disappointed. Our room (and I assume the others are like this) was filled with gadgets, devices, and appliances that were vintage for the time the RR was operating and stopped there (think early 1900's). It was fun to try and figure out what these items were used for back in the day. They have WiFi, a refrigerator, a stove, and a microwave so you're not back in the 1900's yourself. It's an interesting mix of eclectic, nostalgic, and quaint. Very nice!

I took my mom to Brookings for her 82nd birthday and we stayed at the beachfront Inn. We had a real nice time and the hotel was great, they served a great comp breakfast. We had beautiful views of the ocean and the visit was just really pleasant and enjoyable. I would stay there again and again.

As others have noted, this is an older motel that’s been nicely upgraded and made unique. We stayed in the Under The Sea room (#2). It’s small, but I’ve seen smaller in boutique hotels in NY. The bed and pillows are comfy, there’s great amenities (Keurig coffee maker, etc.), and it’s not too noisy. No AC, but there is a small fan, and the windows have screens. For us, it was a nice overnight stop on our way to the Redwoods from Seattle. Would definitely stay again.
