“Avonpark House is a very good travellers rest. Comfortable and clean, our room was a reasonable size as was the ensuite. It’s a walkable distance into the centre of town. The hosts were friendly and welcoming. Good parking available and an excellent breakfast.”
“We had a lovely stay and really enjoyed the beautiful area. It was a lovely touch to have a breakfast box provided for two, with porridge pots, apples, and pain au chocolat.
The room also had tea and coffee-making facilities, which could easily be topped up at reception, along with some lovely cookies. We appreciated the nice bottle of cold water waiting for us in the mini fridge.
Overall, a really positive experience with some thoughtful little touches that made us feel very welcome. We……
“I stayed in the hotel 1 night, the hotel itself is big and well maintained, the staff are helpful and courteous.
Beds aren't very comfortable( maybe because it was the separate pull out single bed). For a room where there is booking for 3 people if you put only 2 cups , 2 glasses and 2 tea bags it doesn't give a great impression on your customer.
Parking charges- 12 pounds for 24 hours also stings a bit
The best thing is the location right next to the high street and the river.”
“Absolute disgrace of a place. Myself, my mum and my two children booked here for two nights. The fold out bed was apparently for two people. There’s no way. There was a single duvet on it and only one clean towel on top (three towels in total for 4 guests), so even the staff are aware that it cannot sleep 2 persons. This resulted in myself and my two children sharing the bed and my mum on the sofa bed. The tv flex wasn’t long enough to reach the socket. There was a used plaster, hair ties and……
“We stayed here for the weekend of26th June , what a gem of a place to find . Room was lovely , staff were very chatty and nothing was too much trouble , food excellent . Although not in the normal hot spot stays , this pub is in a quiet location but not far from anywhere . Highly recommend a stay here at this pub”
