“I can't say enough about the Sugar Boat....check in, personnel, food.. all incredible. The location is perfect..right in the middle of a pedestrian square. Every single interaction we had with the staff couldn't have been more positive. Wonderful experience!”

“This hotel is really run down. Needs a coat of paint & major overhaul. Nothing looked like the pictures. The location is great & the front desk staff are wonderful. So, at least it has that going for it. Breakfast quality was disappointing. Some random buzzer was being tested the 1st morning & woke our young grandkids up. No warning on the buzzer at all. ”

“We stayed 2 nights here . What a wonderful hotel . The staff were amazing. Helpful and very friendly . First night we ate in the restaurant. Food was plentiful hot and so delicious What a star Neil our waiter was . Happy to chat about the area and gave us some ideas of where and what to visit . Loved the ladies at breakfast who were so attentive . Again food amazing and piping hot til the last mouthful . Thank you Duck Bay Im sure we will return one day .”

“I just wanted a simple hotel to come back to after driving all day. No remote for tv, forgot to ask in the morning before leaving for my day trip. Got in late, managed to get Tv on and on a channel, but next night there was a Samsung update message that required the remote. then went for a shower…nearly got severe burns from the tankless water heater as it doesn’t seem to work properly (hot is cold, and apparently cold is hot and extremely dangerously hot. Nowhere to escape to as the shower is……

“Bedroom was lovely, bathroom was very tired and needing tiles, flooring and door replaced, bar area was nice, but the high backed chairs needed a good clean. Dining room was faultless. Would stay again ”

“It was terrible the reception was very abusive and right from the moment we checked in and the rooms were disgusting and for all of that they had the cheek to charge £110 per night. Never again if it wasn’t for every other hotel fully booked for bank holiday I would have walked straight back out. ”
