Convenient to Scott AFB but night mgr. s.b. fired

Posted Apr 20, 2017
Pros: Proximity to Scott AFB
Cons: Fire the night manager. She is incompetent and unwilling to call the police when guest behavior in the hotel warrants it.
Location: Plenty of "pub" type restaurants but no good Italian restaurants.
Horrible execution of hotel rules as they relate to guest's code of conduct. I had a group of 18 year old "recruits" for corrections officer training that got drunk in the room above me and were up all night making noise, fighting, in/out of the room, etc. I called the hotel management staff on night duty to get the situation corrected and, even though she came upstairs to warn them, these guys persisted. At 2:30 AM, I had enough of this and put my clothes on to go speak with the night manager at the desk downstairs. She refused to call the police and instead asked if I would like to move my room. I could not believe that I was the one that had to compromise in this situation ! I was exhausted and could see no solution other than escalating this situation into an all night affair, so I gathered all of my belongings and moved them to another room in the hotel that was quiet. When I checked out, all I received was another apology. No offer to refund/compensate me for one night's stay. I will never stay at this hotel again should I travel to Scott AFB. The night manager should be fired !

Pictures lie, no hot tub

Posted Apr 10, 2017 on Hotels
Booked this hotel because it has an indoor pool and hot tub, hot tub clearly shown in the pictures, get to the hotel and area is paved over where the hot tub was : (. Pool though was fairly warm and decent sized. Check in took 20 mins at 7:30 at night there was a line as the computer system kept crashing. The front desk clerk was apologetic and I understand it was not her fault and she was the only one working. Hotel is tucked away in the corner of a shopping center, so shopping and restaurants within walking distance. Big issue as none of the lights or signs in the parking lot were on and clerk seemed unaware, though she promised to look into it. Room itself was nice and bathroom was spacious. Stayed on the 3rd floor (the top floor) room was right off the interstate but could not hear road noise or other guest noise even though hotel was full. Good water pressure in the shower. Beds were comfy enough. Wi_Fi was very spotty and barely worked. Breakfast area was decent sized, in town to visit family so did not use. Overall a decent hotel but not sure would stay again since really prefer hotels with pools and hot tubs for my families needs.

Well to start off with my reservation was made for the wrong day. So therefore when I got to the motel didn't have me reserved it was a weekend full of baseball players so there was no rooms are they to pick from I was stuck on the third floor with two children in a handicapped room. Not to mention the fact my card got charged twice once for your guises day and then when I had to stay there to a $300 deal turned into $700 thanks hot wire

Won't stay here again!

Posted Nov 27, 2016
Room were dated, beds overly soft and uncomfortable. We keep rolling to the middle of the bed. No rooms cleaned on Thanksgiving day and nothing offered to compensate for that. Not worth the money. We checked out after one night and went to a different hotel.

Watch out for the $40 "hold"

Posted Oct 29, 2016
Pros: Comfy bed and spacious room
Cons: $40 charge without notice and housekeeping was unpredictable
Location: In a shopping area so supermarkets and places to eat nearby. Close to the interstate.
Charged me $40 without notification or explanation. When queried I was told it was a "hold" as I didn't book direct. It was not a hold as they fully charged it rather than just holding the funds. I did get it back but at a different exchange rate so I ended up getting less back. Bed was comfy and good room facilities, but a dirty towel on day 1 and then hit and miss when they would clean your room. The wifi is also terrible, it constantly comments then disconnects.

Staff was helpful but...

Posted Sep 3, 2016
Reserved room with 2 dbl beds. We put right in reservation that we had 3 adults. Staff was more than willing to fix it it it took 4 tries. Kept getting new room and walking in to 1 bed. Something must be wrong with thier booking system. Again staff was helpful though and doing thier best. Food nearby. Convenient to McKendree.
