Ocean City Beach is a long stretch of coast on the Ocean City barrier spit, where you can make the most of the gorgeous Atlantic coastline. Choose one or more ways to enjoy this lifeguard-patrolled, family-friendly beach in the heart of Ocean City. Swim, sunbathe, check out local events and explore the boardwalk. Surf the breaks that roll in from the ocean, ride a horse, surf fish and kayak.

When the weather is warm, pick a spot on the sand and settle in for some time under the sun. Build a sandcastle and take in the ocean views. Play in the water in the safe swimming area or investigate the two stretches of beach that are reserved for surfers and bodyboarders. Surf fishing is also possible at a safe distance from swimmers and surfers. In winter and early spring, go horseback riding or bring your pets for a walk on the beach. With 10 miles (16 kilometers) of shoreline to explore at Ocean City Beach, you’ll have plenty of space to play ball, sunbathe or cast a fishing line.

In summer, attend free, fun-filled activities and events six nights a week. Go to music concerts, open-air cinema screenings and beach sports events. Nearby, you’ll find the Ocean City Boardwalk. Wander along the boardwalk to enjoy stunning views and visit a collection of shops, arcades, amusements and rides. The boardwalk is a great destination for an early-morning bicycle ride or a lazy evening stroll. Buy some tasty seafood and enjoy a sunset picnic or head to one of the bars for a drink.

Ocean City Beach is situated on the stretch of Atlantic coastline fronting the city. The beach is equipped with several public restrooms and rinse-off stations. Beach wheelchairs are available for rent from the Beach Patrol. Parking is available on the streets behind the beach. Ocean City Beach is closed in the late evening for maintenance. Stay in oceanfront accommodation for magnificent views and easy access to the beach. Downtown accommodation is also just a short stroll to the beach.

We love the location and price. It’s the only place I’ve seen so far that has nearly ocean front view from the porch without paying ocean front prices. It’s small, quaint, and safe feeling. Very friendly staff. It has some shortcomings that would be easy to rectify, such as no handles on the cupboards and drawers (at least in family room #18), we had to make tape handles to be able to open cupboards. The fridge had its handle broken off, light bulbs were burnt out, lots of dirt where the floor meets the walls, the carpet is very greasy and stained, mini blinds are messed up. These things could bother someone with higher expectations. But for us, the only thing that really bothered us was that even though it has a kitchenette, it is completely bare…. no utensils or dishes. They really should specify this in their description of the room. Even when I called the hotel to ask I was told “I don’t know if there’s silverware in there.”. If they put a little more effort into its upkeep it would be absolutely perfect. But we come every year and will continue to do so, we love it despite its imperfections.

The unit was outdated, small, and had mismatched and old furniture. The shower in one of our bathrooms wouldn’t drain. The oven did not work. There was only one television. Concerns couldn’t be communicated because the staff hardly spoke English (although they were very nice). The unit was in a really nice location - 1.5 blocks from the boardwalk and beach. We liked the outside showers.
