Mary's Beach House is ideally located one block from the sand. It was very easy to walk everywhere - the pier, the harbor, and downtown for the Night Market. Mary timely responded to our questions and in fact sent new beach chairs and a case of water for our use. She informed us of dog-friendly restaurants as well. The rooftop deck is great - for coffee in the morning and happy hour in the evening. The home was clean and the kitchen was well stocked. We loved our first stay in Oceanside - it's an awesome little beach community. We hope to come back one day.

Great place with everything you'll need

My husband and I stayed at Mary's in March to celebrate his birthday. Being from SoCal originally, we wanted a place where we could entertain our relatives and friends but also be near all the action of Oceanside. The area is very walkable and you can easily do a lot without a vehicle. The beach is steps away but the great thing about Mary's place is, you are not right on the Strand but just a street over. I would definitely stay again.

Beach house

Property was amazing and looked exactly like the photos. It felt like a home away from home. Mary the owner was amazing and very accommodating. The rooftop was my favorite place with the fire pit and sunset. Will definitely be back!

Perfect location for a family vacation

One of our favorite vacation spots. Beautiful Strand beach is less than a minute walk. Plenty to see and do all within walking distance. Legoland is very close. The house provides everything you need for a fun family beach vacation. Rooftop deck is a perfect place to hang out!

Awesome Family Thanksgiving

The beach house was absolutely lovely. Had beautiful views of the beach from the large deck on 2nd level. So relaxing and peaceful at night, just gathering around the fire pit talking. Everyone had a great time ! The owner was very accommodating and nice....good communication. i would definitely rent again.

Annual mother/daughter trek

This is our second time here and we still love it. Location is everything and this beach house is no exception. Practically on the beach without all the noise, The owner, Mary, is wonderfully helpful.

The best

It started with communication with Mary May. She is very responsive to concerns and questions. I felt that she wanted our stay to be the best possible, ever. If felt great to have that kind of attention, and then the house was in perfect position to use the beach. The upper deck was perfect for the afternoons when it warmed up. Beds were extremely comfortable.I would definitely go back to this place in the future.

great location

The location was great..walk down to beach yet feel privacy in quiet small street. The upstairs patio area is fantastic and we spend lots of time there. Parking is ideal and easy. Beach house is well equipped. The layout is great. The host is very attentive. We would definitely stay again and recommend the Beach House for other families.

Everything We Could Possibly Need

We have stayed at many properties, both in and outside of the United States, and this was the best experience with the owner going out of her way to ensure we had everything we needed and more. Regrettably the weather did not cooperate or it would have been the perfect trip. But that even demonstrated the forethought in having the umbrellas, chairs -- just everything we needed to be able to enjoy the soccer games despite some rain and cold weather. The house is nicely decorated, with a well stocked kitchen, just a few minutes walk from the water. The highlight for us was the roof patio, with a great fire pit and superb views. The roof patio and sitting room on the second floor was a great place for our granddaughter and her teammates to talk and play games.

Would stay again!

Over the last 6 years we’ve stayed in all the rentals on this little street, and this is one of our top two! We miss being right on the strand, but the attention to detail regarding amenities can’t be beat. Thank you for providing living room space and kitchen supplies that corresponds to sleeping beds (surprisingly difficult to find in rentals). And thank you for not partnering with vacasa! We will definitely rent with you again!!

Great beach house. Close to restaurants, grocery stores etc.

Got there Friday and left on Monday. House was great. Beautiful ocean views and hearing waves all the time. Easy walk to beach. House was great plenty of sleeping room for my family (there were 6 of us all adults). Kitchen has everything and more to prepare meals. Owner bent over backwards to make sure that we enjoyed our trip. Will be back.

Mary May makes your stay!

We were struggling to find a beach house that would allow us to celebrate our daughter’s birthday but right before giving up I found Mary and her home, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Her home had everything we could possibly need and the location was so good, just a super short walk to the beach. She had a little birthday setup for us when we arrived and my daughter loved it! Mary went above and beyond what I would expect of a host, her kindness and helpfulness were truly my favorite part of our trip. 😊

Great get-away spot

The property manager couldn't have been more accommodating, helpful and easy to work with. The upstairs deck is the star of this property, many evenings outside with a nice fire, dinner prepared on the grill and the sounds of the ocean. For those sensitive to scented products, I advise you let the manager know in advance/request various candles/plug in fresheners be removed. ( I booked very last minute and so the manager had no opportunity to do so) Overall, it is lovely space, easy access to the beach (though limited views from the deck), and I will definitely be returning.

Amazing

Booked for family get away. Mary was able to accommodate my party of 10. 2 bedrooms with private bathrooms. Nice living room with sofa bed. Upstairs loft with 2 sofa beds private bathroom mini fridge small bar top dining table and a laundry room and entrance to patio deck. Home has every amenity you can possibly need from beach necessities to family games and all cooking utensils. The deck views are amazing. Top notch bbq grill. Fire pit was awesome. 3 minute walk to the beach. Location location location. The host Mary is so kind and thoughtful. Check in and out process is super easy. Enjoy this gem of a place in the fabulous City of Oceanside. Can’t wait to book again

Toddler Friendly

Our host Mary was in contact with me from booking thru checkout and was very helpful! I had extra questions since we were traveling with a little one just under 2. Th property was not only stocked with every kitchen item you could want, but also had a baby gate for stairs, a pack and play, beach chairs, beach towels, sand toys and even a few children's books! The roof top deck had appealed to me from the start and we were so pleased to see the sturdiness of the railing and the two kid-sized chairs that kept our toddler happy while we enjoyed the sunsets. Our host was right...we could walk to the beach! The outside hose for cleaning off sand was a pleasant surprise and became an added fun-zone for our toddler. We really enjoyed the Beach House.

Great beachside place!

We were 3 friends staying here and it was perfect for our group. The outdoor space and fire pit was lovely and we spent most of our time out there. The owner also fully equips this place - anything you can imagine is there - coffee grinder, Bluetooth speaker, extra blankets, etc. Both beds are super comfy and there are three couches total - 2 with pullouts- so plenty of spots to hang out. Also, lots of parking at the house. The only (somewhat) odd thing is that both bedroom suites are side by side and you have to walk through one to get to the other. The one at the far end has a separate door to the outside, so you could leave and reenter at the other end of the house if you need to get to the kitchen without disturbing the middle room. This wasn’t an issue for us because we were friends, but if you’re traveling as two couples and want separate spaces, it might be awkward. We loved it here and definitely want to book again!

Best Location and Views!

Wow, don't hesitate to rent this lovely beach house! The location couldn't have been better, you are so close to the beach and walking distance to pretty much everything desired on a vacation in Oceanside. Just a short walk down a little street and turn right onto the Strand, great beach for all ages right there. We could set up our beach gear and walk back to the house easily for breaks. Lots of families enjoying the sand and surf, volleyball nets, picnic tables etc. My kids enjoyed the bikes, we absolutely loved the rooftop patio and could see the ocean perfectly! We enjoyed watching surfers, dolphins, and sailboats on the horizon. The house had plenty of room for my family of 5, in fact we made use of the pull out couches so each kid had their own bed. Very comfortable! Mary was the best host you could ask for, the house has everything you need and more. My husband and I walked to the Harbor every morning for coffee at the Nautical Bean and we enjoyed dining over there too. Even saw some sea lions on Sea Lion Island and rower teams competing. Watching the surfers between the jetties was a treat too. Plenty of beach gear, my kids used the boogie boards all day long. Chairs, umbrellas, towels, toys, speakers, etc. Easy walk to the Pier and shops/restaurants nearby, we didn't even use our rental car except for one Walmart run. Only thing I would change is the cloudy weather we had, but no fault of the owner -- luckily we did get a beautiful sunset the last night!

Great location! wonderful rooftop patio area for great views, family meals/barbeque, relaxation. Parking on site for 3 vehicles which is so hard to find in this great location. Plenty of room for all, plenty of supplies including all you need for the beach. Communication with owner is fast and pleasant. We are a repeat renter and this is by far one of our favorites. Pet friendly, close to beach access while having privacy, security, safety.
