Waimea was our base to explore other areas such as Pololu valley, Hawi and others. "This property had the best view on the whole island! It was almost too good to be true. This is your sign to stop searching, and just book this place! You do need a jeep or truck with big tires to get to the property and you have to drive very slow for the last few minutes of the journey, but it’s totally worth it. All of the plants and flowers and fruit trees were so beautiful! The rooms are a little outdated, but still very accommodating. Everything that we needed was there. Camile and her husband live downstairs and also manage the property so are there if you need anything. They are wonderful people. We truly enjoyed talking with them everyday and appreciate the fresh fruit that she brought us. Hope we get the opportunity to return one day! "

"We stayed with them a week and it was a wonderful, quiet, calm, relaxing stay. Adelina treated us like family - shared fruit from their garden with us! Bed was very comfortable. I slept on the pull out couch, and it was very comfortable as well. Water pressure was amazing - better than 5 star hotel pressure. Full size fridge for all your snacks and food. Fresh ground coffee and coffee maker available. Any cookware (pots, pans, silverware) you might possibly need available at the outdoor kitchen - but there are plenty of food options at Honokaa (don’t spend your vacation cooking!). Ocean breeze at night, you could see all the stars. Located on a quiet street in between Honokaa and Waipio valley. Absolutely ideal if you want to get a feel for local living and get away from all the tourists. Great midpoint to explore both Hilo and Kona (they are both 1.5 hours away driving). We also loved their dog (Storm) and cat (Magnolia). Would absolutely stay here again and recommend to our family and friends."
