9.8/10 Exceptional! (1,000 reviews)
There were several things to like about this hotel. It is located in Mountain Village, which is a thousand feet above the town of Telluride; tucked in an alpine glen with several other hotels, restaurants, and upscale shopping. Access to the town of Telluride is best done using the free tram which departs from a couple of points within Mountain Village, stops at the top of the hill where you can get off and hike or just take in the scenery, and then descends to the town of Telluride itself. Not having to find parking in Telluride is a big plus to me.
The layout of the room was very un-hotel like; more like a small condo or VRBO. The complimentary breakfast is in the downstairs restaurant. The food was certainly above average for complimentary breakfasts and has two different featured options daily as well as more typical fare such as fruit, breads, and yogurt.
In the evening the same restaurant (Siam’s Talay Grille) has some very tasty far-eastern dishes with a good selection of wines.
Although expensive this hotel is a nice treat for a romantic getaway or just a peaceful vacation.
