"It's an astounding feat to build and maintain a property in an environment like STJ, yet the owners did and rebuilt after Irma. The home is solid, literally and figuratively. The kitchen is spacious and was a joy to cook in. The appliances were top notch and I cooked on the outside Weber grill several times. The pool was the perfect size and could not have been cleaner. My husband enjoyed the hot tub, as he runs cold, even in tropical weather. The elevation of the home ensures that you get the breezes, it's lovely. Tammy, the manager was available momentarily by text or call and was pleasant. If you want to be in Coral Bay, away from the crowds and hustle, there could be no better place."
"Check-in and check-out were super simple. Office staff communicates by text upon flight arrival and drops a pin for easy navigation. St John roads are an adventure all by themself, so the pin really helps.
We stayed in Guave and the view was stunning. From the spacious balcony you can see all of BVI as well Coral Bay and the east end of St. John.
The unit is very nicely decorated and in good shape. The spacious kitchen has a surprising number of appliances, gadgets and even some common spices and condiments which really nice.
The grounds are well kept as in the awesome infinity pool, though the property is a fairly steep hill and there are 54 steps between the upper units and the pool, and a few dozen more down to the rarely staffed office. The ladies are quick to respond to texts or calls though.
There is a market just down the (very steep) hill, but the 20 minute drive into Cruz bay is well worth it (better still, stop by their market before heading to the mountain top). Their markets are better stocked and about 30% cheaper.
If you want a peaceful retreat away from crowded family resort life and the best view on the island, Calichi is the place to be."

"We absolutely loved this property. My wife and I stayed here for a week and found it to be a very relaxing place to unwind after long days on the trails or beach. We loved how well appointed it was with lots of thought put into what we might need for our stay. The beach chairs and other items were most appreciated! We utilized the outdoor deck nearly every morning while we ate breakfast and found ourselves back out there in the evenings. The homeowner reached out to ensure our stay was going well and was responsive when I had a question. I simply can't say enough good things about this property. We LOVED it! Thank you!"
"We loved our stay here! The property is gorgeous and had everything we needed. We really appreciated the beach chairs. John and the rest of the Unicorn team were so accommodating and kind. The landscaping around the pool was beautiful and the views are incredible. The villa is quiet and private with a lot of wildlife. We saw lizards, deer, iguanas, and a darling family of 4 stray cats hung out in the woods nearby. The black and white kitten is so friendly! Check your hood before leaving because one of the black kittens had snuck in our engine! Interacting with them was a highlight of our trip. The location in Fish Bay is perfect and I’m glad we chose to stay here instead of other areas we looked at on the island as it’s tranquil here but only 10 mins from the business & amenities in Cruz Bay. (Taxi 80ish for 6 people) Highly recommend and would stay at Unicorn By the Sea again!"

"The craftsmanship of the cottage was impeccable! We met Tim who built them and is part owner; incredibly nice and amicable. Jill was there to meet us and the info she gave prior really made a difference in our trip. She was very informative on the area, and had several books on where to go for snorkeling, hiking and food. Lots of accommodations including first aid kit, coolers and chairs for the beach, spices and utensils for cooking, a grill, etc. On days we didn’t snorkel, we stayed in the cottage and lazed about. The iguanas, the numerous bird species and bats at nighttime were pure endless entertainment. We spent a week there and it wasn’t long enough. The locals were super friendly and hospitable. Definitely hope to go back! Thank you Jill and Tim for a perfect honeymoon getaway!!"

"Paradise on the mountain with views of Coral Bay. Bay Rum Breeze is an absolutely gorgeous home. What I wouldn’t give to have a family room wall to slide open and enjoy ocean breezes! Check in process was flawless. Beach towels provided, beach chairs provided, cooler provided (freezer filled with reusable ice packs); all made beach days so much easier. Very few miner “house” issues. Dining chairs were loose at joints, one stove burner didn’t light, dryer vent needed cleaning, dishwasher bottom rack was wonky. All these issues are typical home issues that were reported and some of them were addressed the same day! All in all a fabulous week with family and would highly recommend this home. Oh, and the frogs and lizards were awfully cute too."

"First, management team was amazing to work with, very responsive as our arrival had several delays that complicated check in. Leo met us at Coral Bay Triangle, which at first I thought was odd, but soon realized the necessity in navigating the steep roads to find the property. You will need a 4x4 and some courage to come and go. They even answered us later in the evening when we were unsure of our turnoff in the dark. The house had a very well stocked kitchen, and all of the beach gear really came in handy. The outdoor showers were lovely. Having two large outdoor spaces facing the sunrise, was so nice. The pool area, cute & inviting. But the views, even more amazing than the photos, and if they are the only reason you come, you won’t regret it. I would be remiss if I didn’t note that the home was not immaculately clean, the beds were not properly made when we arrived, and it could really use a little TLC. The master sink was very slow to drain, the dishwasher rack was broken (though still usable), door handles broken, some patio doors were not usable, paint of the screened porch was rusted and peeling. All that being said, this is a remote location and I’m sure that makes maintenance difficult. I wouldn’t let any of it stop me from coming back, it is still an excellent value. I only mention because as a property owner myself, I would want to know. This was one of our family’s all time favorite vacations and Waterlemon Villa made for the perfect base camp."

"My husband and I loved our stay at Sapphire Peak 2. The space is comfortable and well decorated and maintained. Our greeter James and Beth were so accommodating and we loved the surprise welcome basket of goodies they prepared for us at check in. The views are amazing looking down on Coral Bay and in the mountains. Loved having a plunge pool to dip in to after a long day on the beaches in the sun. The villa is very conveniently located near Coral Bay beaches but also only a 15 minute drive to Cruz Bay and beaches on that side of the island. The kitchen is well equipped and we cooked in several nights and enjoyed the serene surroundings. We would definitely recommend Sapphire Peak and hope to stay there again in the future."

"Spent four nights at the Sea Vista Villa. Absolutely Awesome! The views are amazing and the home accommodating. Communication from the owner was very detailed and appreciated! Definitely recommend this property!A couple thoughts for future guests:The 3rd bedroom on the lower lever only has exterior access and limited views - could be a factor for those guests.Our house liaison Luzmey, did a great job in helping with details prior to our arrival. You will want to coordinate your taxi service and driver in advance of your arrival. The driveway to the home is a challenge for larger vehicles. Some taxis are not able to take you to the front door. Alvin was our driver and was phenomenal! Great experience! "
