“Hotel d’escale pour nous. Situe entre deux grandes surfaces. Piscine un peu vieillissante. Type un peu motel américain avec des escales pour les routiers. En bord de route. Petit déjeuner et restaurant le soir à l’hôtel partenaire à côté . Très bon. Attention on parle un peu moins anglais dans la region( notamment le soir au restaurant. Conditions de voyage: hors saison”

“Good A/C, nice sized room. Appreciated the "larger" mini frudge and coffee maker in the room. Very helpful woth local resources and advice on best travel routes. Got to see a mother howler monkey nursing her baby in the tree just adjacent to the room. Room walls are concrete, so couldn't hear anything from adjacent rooms. Much more serene atmosphere than the hectic pace and crowds in Nosara and Guiones beach areas. Would definitely stay again. Thank you, Louie for wonderful hospitality.”

“The window in the room is frosted which IMO is absurd, especially in a place as beautiful as CR. I asked for a different room and was told all the rooms have just one window that is completely frosted. I don't mind a small room, but a small room without an actual window isn't tolerable for me. I asked for a refund and was told no, so I said I would post this bad review. They responded with a sarcastic, "Thanks". I found a much, much better place to stay even though I had to pay their bill. “The workers were great, friendly and helpful. The room was incredibly small, we had the room with two twin beds. The space between the beds was about a foot. Two people could not stand in that space. Incredibly difficult for two people to maneuver around in.”

Great beach, one of the best I have been in Costa Rica. Affordable. I don’t know if they have any beach chairs, I didn’t asked. There are none available at the beach except for the next door resort which they don’t rent. There are different activities offered by other businesses.”

“The Sunset Shack was fantastic for our family trip to Nosara. The beach is super close, and the town is very cute. We were right in the middle of it all. Monkeys in the mango trees on the property in the morning, and iguanas roaming all day. The food, the staff, and the hotel itself were all 5 stars! We would love to return to Nosara, and would not stay anywhere else. Thank you Sunset Shack!”

“Not worth the money. The pool and gardens are beautiful, and the breakfast was decent, but unfortunately the positives ended there. Our room was dated and had a persistent odor that felt like a mix of humidity and mold. The ice machine in our building was out of service for the entire week of our stay, leaving only one working machine in another building. Basic amenities were also lacking: the shampoo felt like dish soap, and neither conditioner nor body lotion was provided, forcing us to……

“The people were so nice and accommodating. Large room and only a 1 min walk to the beach. They have free parking, good air conditioning and good food. We came for 1 day but stayed 4 we liked it so much”
