Part of South Carolina’s Grand Strand is designated as Myrtle Beach State Park. Here Myrtle Beach State Park Pier extends far into the ocean, making it an excellent location for year-round fishing or just enjoying refreshing sea breezes. Rent a fishing pole at the pier if you didn’t bring your own.
Myrtle Beach’s water environment is extended at Wild Water & Wheels at Surfside Beach. The Free Fall Cliff Dive attraction is earmarked for the adventurous, with a ride that plummets at 45 miles (72 kilometers) per hour from its extreme height toward the ground. Near the airport, the Coastal Grand Mall is one of the state’s largest malls.
Get to South Myrtle Beach by flying to Myrtle Beach International Airport. This neighborhood extends from the airport about 10 miles (16 kilometers) south along the coast to Surfside Beach and Garden City.
