Duluth is approximately 5 miles (8 kilometers) from Superior. This regional center offers a diverse range of tourist attractions, such as Duluth Heritage Sports Center, Canal Park and Lake Superior Railroad Museum. Aerial Lift Bridge, North Shore Scenic Railroad and Fond-du-Luth Casino are also worth investigating before returning to Superior.
Duluth Heritage Sports Center is a great place to spend an afternoon enjoying ice hockey, and to see the Rapid Fire Hockey, in all their glory. On game days follow the river of orange and black, to the stadium, then after the full-time hooter blows, join fans at a nearby pub, bar or cafe for a few post-game beers.
Try some of the area's great winter attractions. Join the locals and go snowboarding here. Snow shoeing is also popular. When you hear the call of the great outdoors, do as the locals do and spend the day hiking and mountain biking.
