For context, our Airbnb was robbed and we quickly needed to book a hotel for the remainder of our stay in Tulum. I had heard of this hotel and the reviews/photos looked great.
In reality, the room (or hut more accurately) was constantly humid, full of bugs (cockroaches, centipedes, ants, etc.), dark, had animals tap dancing on the roof all night and was just generally grimy.
The lights in the room were dim as hell and the bathroom was no better. The bathroom also didn't have electrical outlets. There's also twine around everything which has a super foul smell when it inevitably gets wet. I literally dry heaved every time that I turned the tap on and got a whiff of the wet twine. The room was so constantly humid, so much so that my beautyblender stayed wet and never dried...
The hotel has direct beach access which is nice but it also is full of rocks, seaweed and has super rough water (which isn't the fault of the hotel). Make sure to book a tent on the beach early as they run out throughout the day.
The service staff are super super nice and friendly but the food is meh at best (think unsalted and under-seasoned).
In terms of the crowd of the hotel think over-privileged and insufferable. I saw guests being wildly disrespectful to the staff which is ironic, given the ~~vibes~~ of the PPP.
One thing that was great was the sense of security we felt. They are super strict with who comes in from the main road, so on that front we felt great.
