All the staff were so professional and welcoming. This is the kind of hotel where they will go out of their way to help you and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious, the bed was perfect, the room was very clean, and we appreciated the extra large fluffy towels. The shower was good once you figure it out, the water diverter was located so high that I had to strain to reach it (I’m 5’7”). We loved that this is a smaller hotel where staff can give lots of personal attention. Breakfast in the garden is a beautiful start of a successful Venice day. Note there’s no actual restaurant on-site (I don’t know how they pull of such a nice breakfast) so there’s also no room service. But honestly, that wasn’t an issue at all since there are so many cute and special restaurants nearby. The hotel recommended a restaurant at 5min walking distance (The Lantern) and it was very good. To reach this hotel from the Santa Lucia train station, it’s not far, ask the hotel to email you a walking route before you leave. Car transportation to/from the airport, if arranged by the hotel, is Euro 50 and then the driver helps you with luggage all the way to the hotel. A small tip for Venice, use the ferry, it’s so convenient, it’s just like a bus. We took the number 1 ferry from Piazza Roma close to the hotel all the way down the Gran Canal to San Marco. It’s 15 stops and costs just Euro 7.50. If you can manage to get the back deck seats it’s a fun way to see a lot of activity on the Canal.
