The room was absolutely peaceful and charming. There is ambiance galore. But the real reason to stay is because of the staff. They accommodated us many times from an early check-in, to luggage storage at check-out, and advocating us with grace when we presented gift cards not seen since 2012. Mark checked us out and never once made us feel like a hindrance. The only issues were logistical such as the pool area having such an overwhelmingly chlorine smell that it was impossible to remain in the room, and our closet door liked to close on its own.

The coffee machine in the room was useless without instructions on how to use. The Bellman in the morning was unavailable as it would take 20 to 30 minutes to come for our luggage. He appeared to be the only one working.

Victorian opulence, actual high tea, in house boutiques (I purchased a fabulous fur shawl), and a short walk through lovely blooms to the history of Victoria. The chandelier in the lobby had me taking photos of it from each level. And the views of the harbor are now photo prints in my hallway.
