We've stayed at places where it's not and the host will ghost you as soon as you check in. Not here. Gary is an excellent host- he checked in with us, is knowledgeable about the area, and responsive! It's nice to communicate with a real human! The cabin is absolutely the perfect home away from home. We can't wait to go back!"

"This is a second time we stayed at the property and it is perfectly located to be close to snow with kids without having to chain up every time. The development get ploughed well but you can catch times in the morning when you can sled in driveways. We go to bear valley for cross country ski and this is a perfect spot. House is well appointed and feels homey, not like a blank rental"

"We had a such a lovely visit to the Mountain House with our group of 8. It was clean, spacious, and a perfect layout for our group of two families. The kids had so much fun exploring the yard, playing air hockey, and sleeping in the bunk room. The adults were extremely comfortable in the two bedrooms upstairs. The master is suite is incredible. The property exceeded our expectations and we would absolutely return."

"It was a comfortable and cozy stay. Everything was clean and nicely displayed. Check in and out was easily accessible and the Rosen family where friendly and communicative. It was also nice they provided plenty of snow gear to utilize. It also was a nice location, where nearest town and food was a 15 min drive away!"

The cabin had so many bonus amenities that gave us cherished family memories- ping pong and pool competitions, family movie night in the home theatre, and tasty meals sitting around the dinner table. There was just enough snow to enjoy sledding and snow shoeing too. Any questions we had were quickly answered by the owner too. Thank you, sweet retreat. "Our family of for enjoyed staying at this cozy cabin in the snow. There was just enough snow for our young California kids to play in while we cooked breakfast and got ready for the day. The only reason that we would not stay here again is because the window in the kids room did not have any window treatments so forget sleeping in."

"My wife and I stayed at Apache Pines in September for hiking and site seeing, and again in February to ski at Bear Valley. We like the house and its location and are likely to stay there in the future. Parking would be an issue in the winter if there are more than two cars. The lower level of the house has a bedroom, bath and family room which are great if traveling with kids. There is no master suite, the two upstairs bedrooms share a bathroom. This is a great place for a small group or family....

"Each time we have visited we have been so happy with how well this cabin is stocked. We cook every night and the kitchen is well-stocked with dishes, cutlery and knives. Some essentials are always there as well. Everything is clean and it all makes for a great stay. Looking forward to our next visit."
