Exceeded expectations. Here for overnight stay. Our room is very clean with basic amenities: King bed, two bedside tables, a dresser, a place to hang clothes (though awkwardly placed above the mini fridge, 1-cup coffee maker, and mini ironing board). Small bathroom with shower stall only. No seating in the room; but there are two lawn chairs and a small table just outside the room. Property is nicely maintained and staff are courteous and friendly. Nice setting and parking area is generous enough to allow for boat//car trailer parking.

I liked the redone rooms. New flooring not carpet, bed was super comfy. Nice fluffy towels and pool towels are in each room. Staff was great. My only complaint was the ice machine by my room was not working and too cold to use the pool. Otherwise great place for the money and would definitely stay again.

Property and room was very clean, staff very personable and helpful Cons: for paying over $160 a night having poor tv service that was fuzzy and unwatchable for most channels, and no continental breakfast offered was a huge disappointment.

Captains Inn was above and beyond all I could of expected. Rooms were beautiful, clean, Bed was incredible, best sleep I've had in a motel room bed. A very enjoyable experience, I've recommended to friends on Facebook today already as well as the restaurant North Star in front of the inn. Thank you

A good clean room with a dock to walk. Friendly staff Beautiful and convenient location. I like to be critical when I can but there really is nothing to criticize. Just don't leave your door open at night for any appreciable time or you'll spend the first 30 minutes killing Mosquitoes on the walls and ceiling. Really nice place to stay.

This was my second time staying at Capt's Inn & Suites. I was very happy with the accomodations and the easy walk into the Village of Alexandria Bay was a huge plus. Staff was very courteous during my stay and I will definitely return for a future visit!

Abandoned restaurant out front, the place is hidden behind it and some trees. Really unimpressive street appeal. Kind of a middle of the nowhere, zombie apocalypse vibe from the road. The tv had no remote. They didn't have a remote for the tv in my room, just a few really old remotes that did nothing but turn the tv on and off. They told me to download the tv remote app to my phone.....except the internet doesn't work and the tv isn't connected to the internet so i can't pair the app with the tv. So, no tv. Intermittent internet - i have to keep turning WiFi on and off to reconnect as it continually says "connected with no internet". Got told they don't even have a room to move me to and zero sympathy shown - it was basically an, "oops, sorry" kind of attitude and the excuse that this is their opening weekend of the year. I get it. Things happen. But this is a smart tv. How do you not have a remote for it? Why didn't anyone check the tv worked and find the remote when they discovered it was missing? So, I'm stuck in a room with zero tv and zero internet. Stores are closed so no books or magazines as back up. I won't lie. I'm disappointed. Definitely will be booking elsewhere when i come back with my son this summer. Glad i only spent $61 but even that seems high when i can't even do anything but sit here twiddling my thumbs.

Exceeded expectations!
We were originally booked at Capt Inn & Suites and since they were closing prior to our booked reservation, we were moved to Thomson’s Resort. Thomson’s exceeded my expectations. It was really decorated nicely decorated and felt homey. The view off the balcony of Boldt Castle was spectacular as well! My only two critiques was that our room was located up 26 stairs and we weren’t told that ahead of time. I have a bad back so the stairs weren’t helpful and we tried to avoid going in and out of the room our whole stay to avoid the stairs. We did not book the room so we had no clue what we were getting and didn’t find out until we walked to it and found out it was 3 flights up with luggage and all. There was no way to change it since we were the last ones to arrive that day. The only other item I would change is the orientation of the toilet. It’s kiddie corner in the bathroom and would have been easier to use had it been oriented straight ahead, perpendicular to the shower. The counter sticks out a bit so I needed to bring light in with me when up to use the bathroom at night so as not to walk into the counter. But overall, the property is nice and and well cared for and clean, and of course you can’t beat the views.
