Pepys records a visit to the well in 1664 and was impressed enough to return three years later. The current building dates from 1937 and access is restricted. Grade II listed. The check-in is a little weird having 2 receptionists in a self-check-in place. Also my booking was cancelled with no notice, but they did reinstate it - fortunately. The hotel and room is central and low cost - it had all you really need. No frills.
