The Slanted House - Charming and Cozy!

Our tranquil 1860 suite is newly remodeled and provides a relaxing stay for 1 to 3 people. Set alongside Cincinnati OH and thriving MainStrasse Village in Covington KY, this charming suite is located next to everything else cool and trendy in Downtown, Bellevue and Newport! It’s only four blocks from the Ohio River.

THE SPACE

The Slanted House is perfect for a small group to solo travelers, business trips, families with kids, and furry friends. You’ll feel like you’re at home with a fully-stocked kitchen, washer and dryer, outdoor patio, Netflix and Apple TV, Alexa through out, complimentary drinks, coffee, snacks and more!

This suite is located on the first floor of a two-family and allows for super easy on-street parking right in front of the home. There is relaxing patio space located alongside the row house for sipping cocktails or coffee.

BE A GEEK in this Smart Home and control the Hue Lighting, limitless music, and house temperature with your personal assistant Alexa. There is also extremely high-speed wireless internet and a multi-port USB station for charging up devices. For your ENTERTAINMENT, we offer free Netflix, Apple TV, and have an antenna for local channels. Feel free to log into your own HULU, HBO, Sling, Disney+, Amazon Prime, etc. accounts as well. Note: we do not have cable.

Snuggle up in a gel-infused memory foam queen-size bed in the BEDROOM then ask Alexa to help you drift away with sleep sounds or soft music. There is a desk in the bedroom for private workspace. Extra blankets and a twin-size air mattress can be found in the closet.

The LIVING ROOM has a 55-inch Apple TV, games, puzzles, and toys for the kiddos. We provide the popcorn! Enjoy a little something extra most places don’t have …. our foot massager! Ahhhhhhh.

In the BATHROOM we provide all towels, linens, and toiletries like shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush / toothpaste, and bath gel so you don’t have to tote them. Enjoy the personalized tall shower with many unique settings such as waterfall and massage.

The KITCHEN is decked out with everything you’ll need for preparing meals at home. If it’s not there, we want to know so we can add it! Take a peek through our cabinets and drawers - you’ll find spices and herbs, pots ’n pans, baking dishes, cutting boards, knives, and many other helpful items. We offer a Sboly single serve coffee maker, designed to brew a coffee pod (provided) or a cup using your own favorite coffee grind. We also have a hot/cold milk frother to make your coffee more special! (Bring your favorite “thing” to froth.)

The LAUNDRY nook is located conveniently the suite. We provide detergent, fabric sheets, an iron and ironing board, and more to help you get the job done easily.

Want to add a couple more guests? See if Aways Friday is available upstairs and enjoy the entire house together. We also have The Tres House and House of Liebe one street over …. they sleep 6 each.

Easy on-street parking! You’ll almost always find a spot in front of the house. Note - On Mondays (from 8am - 10am), they do street cleaning on the left so you have to park on the right side of 5th Street. On Tuesdays (from 8am - 10am), they clean the other side (the right) so you have to park on the left side of 5th Street.

If you do plan to stay with a pet, please mention it so we can discuss specifics. No cats, dogs only. Note the number of pets at the time of your inquiry or reservation (2 dog limit please.) We charge a Pet Resort Fee of $20 per stay.

Lovely weekend stay
This apartment was perfect for a weekend stay in Cincinnati with my husband and our small dog. It's located on a bustling street but is immediately over the water from downtown Cincinnati, close to so many things. Unit was well stocked and adorable, just was highly communicative whenever needed. Would definitely keep this place in mind next time we return.

The perfect spot to enjoy downtown Covington
My husband and I booked Vicky and Doug's place for an overnight trip. We planned to see a show at the Aronoff Center in Cincinnati on a Thursday night and chose to kick around Covington Friday morning and afternoon. What a great spot! The house was cozy and charming -- and clean. Most of my communication was with Vicky, and she was prompt with responses and made some excellent recommendations. The rental was conveniently located near Main Street (Mainstrasse) shops and restaurants, and just steps away from the Southbank Shuttle stop. We could easily walk to all the amenities, and the Shuttle took us up to Fountain Square, just a few blocks from the theater. One amenity of the house I particularly enjoyed after a day out walking was the foot massager in the living room. It was nice to kick back, flipping through the old-school View Master toy and listening to classic vinyl while my tootsies got a treat. We stayed Thursday night and did not notice any loud street traffic, and the upstairs neighbors were pretty quiet during our stay. In the morning, we followed the simple check-out instructions, grab a complimentary snack for the road, and thanked our hosts for a wonderful (albeit short) stay.

Unique charm in bustling district.
Great place to stay with a unique charm. It’s within walking distance to many attractions, shopping and dining. My only complaint would be that it only sleeps 2 comfortably. The couch is an option for 3 (in our case) or more. Would definitely stay again but bring an air mattress next time.

Perfect for last minute trip to serve as our home base as we explored the area. The little touches throughout the house were fun to find. Super comfy mattress! This was my first stay at Slanted House, after two stays at Always Friday, which is directly above. Once again it was a fantastic experience. The property owners are excellent to deal with, the location is perfect, parking is very convenient. I would highly recommend any of their properties.

Football Weekend Trip
This place is *amazing*! SO MANY cute little touches everywhere. We were constantly saying "look at this!" "did you see this?". Just really neat stuff everywhere. The bed was comfy, kitchen/bathroom well stocked, and a complimentary FOOT MASSAGER :) We loved the location and can walk to the football and baseball stadiums (as well as a lot of great restaurants and bars). I cannot recommend this place highly enough. You will not regret booking here. We can't wait to return!

Great Location!
This house is close to many restaurants and bars, and it's very easy to walk across the bridge to Cincinnati. The bed is comfortable. You can hear footsteps from upstairs and loud cars, but nothing that the white noise machine can't drown out. The house is very unique...almost like walking back in time. We really enjoyed our stay.
