Exquisitely remodeled Mid-Carmel Valley cottage retreat

Follow the path of overarching trees to this self-contained guest house steps from the Carmel River. Its just undergone a loving makeover. The farm-style cottage has everything needed for a peaceful, tranquil retreat, yet is conveniently close to shopping as well as spa and dining visits to Refuge, Carmel Valley Ranch and Bernardus Lodge. The thoughtfully designed kitchen features a full-size refrigerator, chef’s gas stove, microwave and dishwasher. Double pane windows brighten the dining area. Tiled shower is brand new. The living room features a 65-inch TV, Wi-Fi and electric fireplace. Step into the bedroom (with 55-inch TV) and discover a California king-size bed enrobed in Egyptian cotton linens. Everything’s been thought of, from easy parking to blackout shades on the windows. And the cottage environment is hypoallergenic in almost every way. Situated just beyond the fogline, the cottage can serve as your base for experiencing the beautiful Monterey Peninsula.
*** Please excuse the unfinished front yard, not landscaped. The main house is rustic and waiting for a makeover. Please be aware of (possible) two happy dogs, greeting you during your stay. Mizuno; yellow lab, 7 years. Wilson; white with black spots - 18 months.

Best Little Cottage in the Carmel Valley!
Beautifully appointed & remodeled. Plenty of towels, toiletries & top notch kitchenware. Inviting, comfy down comforter & empty dressers/night stands with plenty of outlets & giant TV in the bedroom. Beautiful living room with very comfortable furniture, another giant TV, throws & pillows to cuddle up & watch a movie. Incredible views of green, lush landscape. We can't wait to visit again!

We stayed a week while visiting family and enjoyed this well equipped and comfortable cottage tucked away on the banks of the Carmel River. The host has gone beyond expectations with such nice touches as quality towels, premium cutlery, premium appliances. In all, a top VRBO experience.

Tranquil cottage
Great little cottage at the end of a private, peaceful road lined with beautiful coastal oaks. Fully equipped kitchen, even with butter and cream in the refrigerator. Nice size bedroom with a comfortable king size bed. Lots of windows to let in the light, and the cool evening breeze. One of our favorites!

Perfection!
My husband and I enjoyed every single minute of our 5-day stay in this wonderful cottage. The cottage is beautifully decorated and has everything one needs. Jung has thought of everything her guests will need in order to have the best vacation! One of our favorite things to do while at the cottage was to go down by the river and drink coffee and just relax! I highly recommend this cottage and I can’t wait to go back to the area and stay here again!

Our stay at Jung and David's cottage was a dream come true. The cottage was impeccably clean and incredibly comfortable, providing the perfect retreat for our birthday getaway. Being conveniently located near both Carmel-by-the-Sea and Carmel Valley Village, we had easy access to explore the surrounding area. Jung and David were exceptional hosts, going above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction throughout our stay. Their warmth and hospitality made us feel truly welcomed, and we enjoyed getting to know them, their two lovely dogs, and hearing about the chickens on their property. Their recommendations for dining and local attractions were spot-on, enhancing our overall experience. A wonderful Solo Vacay!
I am so so happy I came across this property when booking for my trip/visit to Carmel.Jung was such a wonderful and gracious host and was surely not kidding about the greetings from Mizuno and Wilson! Such a wonderful cherry on top of an already wonderful stay. Not only is the cottage space absolutely breathtaking, but it is truly stocked with all the amenities you need, plus some nice extras. I loved the addition of the robes in the closet! Such a chic touch and made for an extra comfortable stay. The soaps and shampoos/conditioners in the shower were really great too! And the candles place around the space helped to warm the space up. The bed was super comfortable and the kitchen amenities of coffee, tea, and cooking utensils were really nice. All in all I had a beautiful stay and have been doing nothing but recommending this place to everyone I talk to about my trip. Truly one of a kind hospitality:) Cannot wait to come back!

Delightful rental
We've visited Pacific Grove, Carmel and Monterey a number of times, and stayed a variety of places. This time we decided to stay in Carmel Valley. We enjoyed Jung's hospitality and the chance to star gaze at night. The cottage was ideal for us, quiet and comfortable and thoughtfully provided with all amenities. We found the bed super comfortable, the kitchen clean, modern, and well designed. We hope to return in the future.

This is our second stay at Jung’s property. It’s such a beautiful modern space nestled in a rustic, river setting. The bed is huge and comfortable. Windows everywhere that invite in the natural light. We will continue to book this cottage!

This was a great find. The place was cozy and very clean. We ate out most of the time and didn't use the kitchen much. The bathroom and living room and bedroom was very clean and even provided us with slippers in the house. Will be booking again for our yearly visit to Monterey. The owners were very nice and both doggies were very friendly and so were the cats.

A Beauty in the Valley
Jung’s cottage is absolutely beautiful inside and nestled in the most amazing setting. Definitely a tucked away gem. Nice and quiet with a lovely view out every window. Close to Carmel Valley Village and easy to get to Laguna Seca for the races we came to see. Looking forward to staying again when we are back in the area.

Exceptional/Beautiful Cottage in Serene Setting
This spot is so lovely and quiet, yet convenient to drive to all the attractions the area has to offer (at a fraction of the cost of the resorts just across the creek). Bed and sheets are divine. The hosts are very gracious. My favorite thing was being able to walk in back to the private oasis, sit on the chairs by the creek and listen to the water splashing on the rocks and the wind blowing in the trees...

We loved this cottage on the river. It was beautifully appointed and we loved that the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to make breakfast and a couple of dinners. It was also very quiet and peaceful for sleeping with a very comfy bed. Jung and David are wonderful hosts and we loved getting to know their dogs and cats as well.We can’t wait to get back to Carmel. Lovely Cottage In Carmel Valley
We had a great long weekend at Jung and David’s cottage in Carmel Valley. The cottage itself is well appointed and had everything we needed and David and Jung welcomed us and got us situated. The location is ideal for exploring the valley but also for trips to Carmel-by-the-sea and Monterrey. The highlight for us was definitely getting to meet the cute pups (Wilson, Mizuno) and the two friendly kitties. Thank you for a lovely time!

Fabulous Little Cottage!
The Cottage is absolutely beautiful, squeaky clean, and has all the comforts of home, in a lovely and peaceful setting. Bonus: A half dozen freshly laid eggs awaited us for our breakfast the next two mornings!!! Can’t beat that :) Jung & David are beyond the nicest people we have ever met. They were responsive communicators, considerate and very helpful with anything we needed. We so enjoyed meeting them as well as their dogs, cats and one daughter during our visit, which was way too short (2 nights) The King size bed was super comfy with a down comforter and pillows aplenty. The shower had great water pressure and was nice and hot! We loved our stay at this place and highly recommend it.

Beautiful home in a great location! Plus cute dogs!
This was such a great place for my mom and I to stay for our mother daughter trip. It was so clean, well-stocked, updated, and cozy. The backyard was nice with chairs to sit by the creek. Also the dogs on the property were friendly and loved belly rubs! Only good things to say!
