"Three generations of family holidaying together for 2 weeks. House great, Eric very helpful, location good.
More than adequate equipment in the house, loads of beds, walking distance from Saint Papoul which has a small epercie, lovely restaurant, great boulangerie with croissants to die for. Chez Alice serves coffee and other drinks as well as being the corner shop. If you want larger shops just a short drive away. "The location to the castle is 2 nd to none. A 5 minute walk is all it takes to be at the castle. We booked for Bastille Day. Spent the day walking around . We had lunch then returned to 514 , showered and changed. Returned to the castle for supper . Watched the fireworks display which was breathtaking. Fantastic location.The room was clean and equipped with fridge, 2 ring hob, microwave, coffee maker ( one pod machine and also a filter machine) Well worth a visit and great value for money."

"Room with box bathroom in corner smelled damp, probably because regulation extraction fan in was not working and probably never had as string tied up as when fitted. The bed had a 6 cm foam mattress on a solid wood box base so very uncomfortable to sit on never mind sleep on, but still appeared to sag in middle. No reception, 2 flights of stairs and main door left open, so less than secure. Unsafe and unhealthy."

"Really well situated - just on the edge of the Bastide and about 15 minutes walk from the walled town.
Lovely home with a small pool and excellent outdoor kitchen. It had all the facilities we needed.
Our host was very friendly and extremely helpful. We would definitely recommend staying here."

"We stayed at this property for 2 weeks in August 2024. It is a lovely house with a gorgeous pool. The host Susan is the perfect mix of present but unobtrusive.
The surrounding area has so much to do, from caves and underground chasms to beautiful villages and Mediterranean beaches.
Highly recommend!"

"Perfect location if arriving by train. We had a fantastic welcome and Sandra was very nice and clearly took pride in the property. The gite was spacious, comfortable, clean and well equipped. We walked to the old city with our 11 year old in about 25 minutes. The old city is magnificent! Having the cafe downstairs for breakfast was really easy. If we come back to Carcassonne we would hope this apartment was available."

"Very pleasant Hotel in a prime location on the river next to the old bridge with ready walking access to the old city. 2 nights in a comfortable room with bath and shower.
Breakfast was ample with a good range of cold and hot buffet items. Service was excellent with reception staff supportive and helpful.
On the critical side, the spacious balcony with good views of river, bridge and old town leaked from above, with tired floring. The spa is separate from the small hotel swimming pool at extra cost with the hot tub and sauna within the spa. No room service for food whilst the restaurant was open and fully booked.
Overall, a good stay 8/10"

"Hotel Montmorency is 4* and right opposite the Hotel Chateau which was 5* so they share the same facilities which made it a great stay.
Fantastic location set back 200m from Carcassonne entrance
Gorgeous pool area, a bit smaller than official photos suggest but still lovely
Breakfast was amazing, an array of dishes served to you by a waitress, fruit, cheese, ham, pastries, croissants, white and brown rolls and option for boiled eggs and muesli.
Lovely setting at front of hotel overlooking the castle for breakfast, food and drink, gardens are beautiful
The decor in the Montmorency is a bit on the loud side and the rooms a little small but the beds are very comfortable and great shower.
Very pleased with our stay though a little disappointed that they did nothing at all to help us celebrate my 60th birthday and our silver wedding anniversary despite banners and cards all over our room and we’d notified them months in advance?"

"Great property! We arrived very late and the hotel manager/staff was more than accommodating to get us from our uber to the hotel. Breakfast in the morning is a bit light but traditional. We had one issue where I showered the first day and was caught in the shower with both an empty large bottle of shampoo and body wash. My husband went to housekeeping and was able to recover it but inconvenient to wait that long and easily avoidable. All minor in the scheme of things. We would recommend this hotel! "
