2024 Vacation

Property was as listed. House was very comfortable. The pool and hot tub were fantastic! Enjoyed fishing in canal. Would definitely stay at this property again.

Great stay!

This home was a great size for the group we had with us. I appreciated having the master separated from the other bedrooms. The pool and back yard were fantastic. The kitchen was a little small considering the number of folks we had with us and the size of the home. Overall a very nice rental and well located.

Great Low Key Spot

The pool was perfect. The house was as listed. Fishing was walking out the back door. Jacob was great to interact with and overall this was a great vacation for my family. Beach was a short drive away

NYE in Delray

I expected the property to be a bit more updated based on price point, however, the home comes fully stocked with pool, beach, fishing, kayaking, and bicycling activities! You don’t need to pack any of that. The home was SPOTLESS as well. Therefore I gave it 5 stars. I’m not sure if I would take small kids here but teens and up, it’s perfect!!

Lovely, Peaceful Vacation Location!

We came to Delray for Thanksgiving and a 80th birthday celebration. Booking this property couldn’t have been any easier, Laurie and Jack are so accommodating. Within minutes of stepping into their home, we settled into relaxation mode. The property is bright and refreshing, has everything possible to keep your kids entertained (pool/ hottub, bikes, kayaks, ping pong/pool table). Our favorite was eating breakfast outside overlooking the gorgeous pool/ spa/ canal. The spacious floor plan was just perfect for entertaining 12 people for the holiday. We will definitely return to this home ( hopefully sooner than later) Thanks VRBO for connecting us with owners Laurie and Jack!

One of the best of the best!

Spent 27 days at Avocet house on a quiet and safe no drive through traffic street south of Linton about on Delray and Boca border. Excellent property: clean, well maintained home with split bedroom areas, several gathering areas, new living furniture, great sports including pool table, spa, swimming pool, bikes, ping pong, kayak, basketball hoop. Kitchen well stocked with oil, spices, etc so a trip to nearby markets need not be rushed. The yard on canal is private with abundant mangoes while I was there. Sit in the dock and enjoy variety of wildlife. A very good property with a garage and excellent caring owners.

What a Great Place to Stay

Our family converged from Virginia, New York and Connecticut have to visit my husband’s sister and mother who live in Florida. This trip was meant as a “healing” trip for the family as we recently lost a loved one. We were able to relax and enjoy each other’s company and enjoy the amenities provided by the owners of the house. The pool, Jacuzzi, pool table and kayaks were a hit, we even found some time to throw a couple of lines in to try to catch some fish. Laurie and Jack thought of everything. The house has everything you can think of that you need to enjoy yourself. The house is immaculately kept and Laurie and Jack are wonderful people to work with. We look forward to staying at this or one of their other properties again, soon!!!!

Relaxing getaway

Spent a week at this quiet, relaxing getaway. The owners have redone the interior and added an outdoor heated pool and whirlpool spa. It was the perfect setting and location, quiet residential neighborhood and conveniently close to several food stores. The property was fully stocked, kitchen/dining utensils, towels, sheets, new appliances, cable TVs in all the bedrooms and living room, 4 bikes, lots of beach chairs and gear, even fishing tackle. The owner Jack was extremely helpful and accommodating, going out of his way to make sure that the few little issues we pointed out were fixed to our satisfaction. They even had potted orchids and fresh flowers in the house for our enjoyment. Jack and Laurie are clearly dedicated to ensuring that their guests will feel like this is their home away from home.

Great house & location

We stayed during April 2018 for a week. The listing & pictures accurately described/showcased Laurie & Jack's home. On check-in day, Jack met us at the house and gave us a brief overview of everything, including pool/jacuzzi operations. He was available by text as needed for issues/questions throughout the stay. The location is great and is right on a quiet canal that you can kayak on. With the landscaping, the backyard is very private. The pool area is well-maintained and a perfect area to relax. We really enjoyed the sunroom/game room as well throughout the visit. They have cable TV in all bedrooms, as well as ceiling fans throughout. The washer/dryer was a big plus. The master bed was slightly little uncomfortable but otherwise the house was great and everything we had hoped for during our trip. We'll certainly consider staying here again.

Fourth of July get away

First time vacationing in South Florida. Awesome area . Private. Relaxing. Fish, swim or just rest and watch tv. Close to everything. Great people to rent from. Will definitely be back …. Definitely enjoyed our time there.

Perfect for our needs!

We came to Florida for our son's graduation at FAU and make a little vacation out of the time. The house provided plenty of sleeping arrangements, a wonderful pool, and a great view of the canal. Pool table was fun too.The only knock on the house was, and I'm nitpicking, that there were no condiments or food stables left so we ended having to buy everything and flying out of state had to leave them. There's been other rentals that have supplied these.

Excellent weather, great property.

We stayed 9 nights. Family really enjoyed the amenities. We stayed on property more than usual due to the wonderful amenities such as pool, fishing and kayaking. Jack is a great and attentive host. A few items could use updating but overall would recommend and would definitely stay again. Thank you Jack and Laurie.

A Great Getaway…

This was a great location for us bc it was a 15 minute walk to my daughter and her family. We were fortunate enough to have a beautiful pool and be on the canal. The home was clean and neat. The primary bed was very comfortable. I’d definitely stay here again. Jack and Laurie are great hosts.

Great Location and amenities

Very clean house in a great quiet and safe neighborhood. House is also well stocked with anything you might need. I will note some things that can be missing from other rentals which are included with this house, namely kayaks, bikes, fishing poles, and gas for the grill. Pool and hot tub are great. There are fish in the canal and a dock to hang out on. Beach is very close and convenient. We have stayed in many VRBO properties in this area and this is one of the best for our family/interests. Communication with the owners was great and not intrusive during our stay. Would highly recommend if you need a rental in this area.

Lovely Space

Our stay was very nice as the house is set in a quiet neighborhood along the canal with a private pool in the backyard. The home was spacious and very clean; we found the beds very comfortable to sleep in. We appreciated the Netflix available for our downtime. Communication with the host was exceptional as they responded within minutes of inquiry. Very nice place to stay!

Wonderful Oasis

This was an excellent find. All of the amenities needed for a great vacation, beautiful pool, hot tub, central air conditioning. Super quiet location, conveniently located close to shopping, short drive to Atlantic Ave, Boca Raton, and only 5 minutes from the beach.

Nice Stay

Property was pretty much as advertised! Beds were comfortable, unless you end up with one of the two futons but I’m personally not a fan of sleeping on those. Was perfecfly ok for the kids. The game room was fun for all of us. A/C works well in all but master bedroom but maybe that’s because it’s off the porch/gameroom which is understandably hotter than other rooms. Kitchen was well stocked with whatever was needed to cook with. Lots of cleaning materials, plenty of towels for bathing and pool/beach. I absolutely loved the arch of a flowering bush over the driveway! Jacob was polite and nice to deal with and very easy to reach!

Pool life

The pool was perfect, being heated it really helped the kids get right in and enjoy swimming everyday. And being on the canal was beautiful. Very much enjoyed our stay.

Perfect

Perfect place, we have 3 kids 8,5, and 2 and the pool was perfect. Couldn’t get them out of it. Location is perfect and literally 5 mins from downtown Delray. Just sitting on the bench at the dock was relaxing after sundown. Could not be happier with our stay-thank you!

3 week stay

Property well equipped . Pictures online outdated. The dock was not as pictured. Not the same furniture as in pictures . The pool was wonderful but the travertine tile around the pool was very uneven. The kitchen could use more pool friendly plastic cups. The beds were very comfortable. Overall I gave it a Bplus on cleanliness because I m very picky.
