“First, the positive. The cabin was clean and was dry during a lot of rain. The location is on the water and close to Gravenhurst. We arrived at the cabin not having received an email with check in instructions. There is no office there. Thankfully the cleaning lady let us in. We had called the host twice and messaged on VRBO inbox twice. It wasn’t until I texted him that he responded. I had asked prior to going if there was a coffee maker and was told no, yet there was one and I hadn’t brought……

“Had a wonderful stay at the cottage! It was cozy, clean, and peaceful — the perfect place to relax and unwind. Highly recommend!” Host is very accommodating.”

“The premise of the compound is run down, and not clean/tidy. The inside of the house was nice, however the foot of the couch is broken, rooms have damp smell, AC is not working, warning of 200$ fine if garbage was not brought with the guest.”

“We recently stayed at this cottage outside of Gravenhurst, and it was by far the worst vacation rental we have ever experienced. The property was not just dated—it was filthy and appeared to have been neglected. Upon arrival, there were no kitchen cloths, no paper towels, and only a 2 half rolls of toilet paper with no extras provided. The cottage smelled strongly of cigarette smoke mixed with mould. The dishwasher was full of partially cleaned dishes, and several kitchen cupboard doors were……

“Pros: Very helpful and responsive host. Nice lakefront property in a great location. Well furnished property 2 Kayaks included Amazing Ice Cream shop within walking distance (Scoops) Cons: The bedroom with the bunk bed gets much hotter than the other bedrooms One of the wooden planks on the dock is protruding and is a tripping hazard”

“Space was not clean and had the odor of mold/musty. The outdoor space was not well maintained. The seating outside had molded seats and sitting water on one of the seats. Screen door mesh was missing. It was not a pleasant site to be welcomed and made it seem the space was not well maintained. I would not consider booking this property again as it seems like the owner does not care whether the space is well maintained or functioning properly for their guests.”

“Bathroom floors and vanity not clean, sheets on one bed seemed damp, back porch was not clean, many days not clean, sliding doors had cobwebs at all corners, no screen door here, steps from parking to door in very poor, dangerous condition, kayaks were not cleaned off and made ready for use. This cottage had not been made ready for guests. Concerned that vrbo is advertising for unkept property. We wasted time, money, dreams of a wonderful weekend ruined!!”
