"This was a most spectacular and breathtaking place to stay. We got the top view. A bit of a hike up but so worth it. We got to lay in bed and look out to the stars, daybreak and volcanos. From the balcony we could see the lake. I loved the open private bathroom and our own sitting area. Definitely glamping. The next surprise was the restaurant there. Like having your own private chef. My husband always finds the most amazing places to stay. So friendly and loved the dogs. "

"Property had a cool rooftop double jacuzzi overlooking the airport, a nicely appointed gym, a shuttle ($10/adult) at 3:45a when an uber might not work. Breakfast was excellent, with an omelette bar and quality local options. Staff was friendly and helpful. Used to be a Radissn so the facilities are a little older but have been tastefully updated. We stayed there twice, both at the front and end of our trip after late arrival and before an early flight."

"First and foremost, the staff at El Carmen are wonderful, especially Arnold who took care of us from arrival to departure and the staff at breakfast. Our room was lovely, well-appointed and had a fantastic hot shower. We loved having lunch in the courtyard and breakfast on the terrace. The food was really good and well-priced. After 6 weeks in Guatemala, we can say this was our favorite hotel experience."

"Wonderful location just a block from the Arch. The terrace is perfect for viewing the volcanoes, especially Fuego, who is active. The restaurant is good, but a little pricey. However, it's dinner and a show! A marimba band entertains, and if you time it right, you can see the Baile de Moros, or Dance of the Moors. So fun!"
