Fun Times at Willows Place in the Poconos

Even better than advertised. Numerous things to do on the home's property and within the community it sits in. Only one hour from Scranton and countless waterfalls and hiking trails. All ages from 2 to 67 said it was one of the best home rentals we have vacationed at.Manager and owner were both prompt at returning texts with useful info and responses. A

This place reminded me of home away from home very charming place lots to do game room was a huge hit with all ages. We especially loved the huge family table inside the side porch for meals and family game nights to bring us all together. The fire pit put back accompanied by horseshoes and mini golf was a huge hit as well. Check in was so easy and reaching the homeowners was easy and they always got back in a timely manner I wish I could give them more than 5 stars for that. Very amazing place I must say

Family Thanksgiving

Great family rental

We had 12 people for a family vacation and had the best time. Multiple living areas with games allowed us to spread out and it never felt cramped. Big front deck, fire pit, and extra large dining table were huge hits. Highly recommend!

Wonderful holiday

We had a lovely stay here with our family for Christmas. It even had a Christmas tree!! It was perfect for hanging out with cousins and we enjoyed dinners around the amazing dining table. The hosts were very communicative and helpful. We would love to come back in the summer!

Lovely mountain retreat

Nine women friends stayed very comfortably. Would be a great house for families ... great game room and yard games! Received an immediate response to all our text questions which hasn't been my experience with other places. Loved our visit and would definitely come back!

best trip ever

This was such a great house for our girls weekend. Check in process with the home owner was so smooth. House felt clean, safe, and you can tell the owner puts great care into her guests. Such good communication. You feel like you are in the middle of the woods. The lake is beautiful! Highly recommend this spot. The only snafoo is that gate check in process was pretty strick so make sure your registration isn't expired!!

Wonderful college reunion spot!

We had 5 couples staying in this home for a semi-college reunion. The house had everything we wanted and the sun room was a perfect spot for us to have a “friendsgiving” all together at one table. The hideout community felt very safe as well and was easy to find and check into. The fireplace was a fun addition and really made the home feel extra cozy.

Great House!

We had so much fun hanging around the fire, playing mini golf, ping pong, and pool. We walked to the local ponds to fish and we caught pickerel, bass, and yellow perch. We golfed 9 holes on a beautiful golf course in the hideout. And we sat around the fire at night and enjoyed that. The house was more than big enough to sleep 15 of us. One day, my dad grilled 40 burgers and 30 hot dogs on the grill and we all sat around the table to have a feast. Not a lot of places have a table to seat everyone! 10/10 home and I would highly recommend staying here.

Great family weekend getaway!

Fourteen of us gathered to celebrate Grandma’s 70th and had a fabulous time at Willow’s place. It was nothing fancy but slept us all comfortably and we all loved the fun basement, the backyard, and huge dining table on the porch. So many houses we looked at slept 15+ people but had 6-8 seats around their dining table. Not a problem here! The community was great - we fished everyday and everyone caught something. We did have pool passes for everyone (not just six as other reviews mentioned) but didn’t end up using them because it was so cool. Marcy was wonderful to communicate with - and so accommodating. Highly recommend!

A Lovely Place by the lake

There are 11 of us in our extended family ranging from upper 60s to a one year old. Willow's Place was just what we needed. There was plenty of room for all of us, and the house comes with a well stocked kitchen. The game room came in handy on a rainy day. The sunroom/dining room made it easy to have big family dinners. The facilities at "The Hideout" are great. The lake, the pools, the tennis and pickleball courts made it so that everyone could find something to do. We hope to return next year

Great place for a group

We had a great time as a group staying at this property. It was 12 of us we and stayed at the property comfortably. We had fun playing pool, ping pong, and marvel vs Capcom arcade game. It's easy to check into the gated community and once you have a pass it's easy to leave and come back anytime you please. Overall we felt safe and enjoyed our stay. Owner of property was very friendly and replied very promptly to messages and place was very clean. I recommend this to any groups and is very kid friendly. The dinning table in the sun room is large and seats multiple, balcony view is very beautiful especially in the morning. Overall we had a great time 👍

Perfect for Family Getaway

This house was perfect for our needs. It had a big covered outdoorish dining area with a long table that had enough seating for our whole family to eat BBQ dinners together, but away from the mosquitoes. The house had enough space for us to hang out in a little, and a fun basement with a pool table/ping pong table and two arcade stations, each with a variety of games. Also, it is part of a community center with easy access to a beach/lake and pool, although the pool was closed when we were there (maybe because of a holiday that day?). Place was clean upon arrival, communication with host was smooth, and fully stocked keurig coffee bar was a nice perk. Everything was as advertised, if anything better, and was a great value. This was our second time using this house and hopefully not our last.

Great for our family reunion

We had a great time and would consider coming back. Our contact agent was accommodating, thorough, and responsive. The property was clean, warm, and pretty modernized (for a Pocono location). The large table in the sunroom was great for 12 person meals. There was plenty of comfortable parking, good beds, sofas, and indoor fireplaces (both wood and faux). We used the propane grill to do a cookout. We also enjoyed the arcade machines and appreciated the smart TVs for airdropping. A few things other renters might consider that could not work for you: The house is definitely not right on the water. There's not much of a view and you are very much in the middle of a (wooded) housing development surrounded by other homes. Kayaks: Because the house is not on the water, make sure you have a plan if you want to utilize the 2 single kayaks and the 17 ft canoe. We luckily had a large camper van but without a racked SUV or truck it would be difficult to get them to the water down the road. The canoe was too large for us to transport. The kayaks are singles (1 person) so not great for families looking to get smaller kids out. Also did not have life vests. We luckily brought our own. Make sure you mention you plan to use them beforehand, so they are accessible. We had to ask (which worked out fine due to the agent's responsiveness) but I could see others being upset by the confusion and delay. Kayaks and other boats are available to rent for $20 somewhere in the complex. Pool table/ ping pong/darts: Be aware that the ping pong table is on top of the pool table. This means you cannot play both at the same time. More impactful is that the ping pong table is placed on pool table so it affects the bounce of the ball. We didn't mind because we were not there a long time and mostly were just playing around but if you intended to have a serious game, you'd be frustrated. We never moved it to play pool either. The darts were all very bent and similarly, if you intended for a serious game, you'd be frustrated. I would not say the house is "spacious." Yes, there are lots of comfortable bedrooms, outdoor space, a nice sunroom, and a large deck, but if you have a full group, the living room and kitchen get a little tight with the large furniture. We were fine but it could see a less flexible, less familiar, or older group having issue. We did not use the public amenities or outside fireplace/deck/cornhole/putting green. Overall a good place for our gathering.

Perfect Fall Getaway

The property was perfect for our two families. The children loved all the games and mini golf. We enjoyed every aspect of the house. From fire pit nights, relaxing on the front porch, and family dinners in the sunroom. Wish we could have stayed longer.

A nice stay.

Our host was absolutely fantastic at communicating. Always getting back quickly with any questions. The house was nice and in good shape and in particular we all enjoyed the sun porch's large table to we could all eat together. A nice spot for a big group. Generally liked the hideaway as well. Nice lakes and lots to do. Just wish it was a little easier to walk places.

Family Reunion

We had a family reunion and this was the perfect spot to have everyone together. We grew up going to the Hideout every year as kids and made unforgettable memories, and as adults, it was just as amazing. This house allowed everyone to be comfortable and play games in the side room altogether at night. Thank you to the owners for a fabulous, care-free experience.

Family friendly cozy cabin

12 of us stayed at Willows Place including kiddos between the ages of 10mo and 6 years old. It was family friendly, clean, and conveniently located near ski hills with a full grocery store minutes away. Owner was very responsive when we had a question and amenities were great.

Poconos trip

Overall this was a great house to stay in. It was the perfect sized for our group and having the pool table in the basement was a big plus. We did not get to chance to use any of the other amenities that the Hideout had to offer but this was a great house and I would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Lake Ariel.

Amazing!

We definitely enjoyed our stay! There was plenty of games and activities for the children and adults! We loved the sunroom with the extended table. Great for large groups! The firepit was fantastic for relaxation and the coffee bar was a hit! We'll definitely look into renting again! Thank you, Marcy!!
