“Stayed here on a visit to Wigtown in late August 2026. Communication was great with multiple emails confirming reservation and instructions. Although there are no staff of duty the instructions on how to get the key were timely and detailed and we had no problems at all getting in and checking out, and we arrived late. The bunkhouse is clean, smelled fresh, and the rooms were nice. We stayed in rooms 1 & 3 and it was lovely. Also very quite! The bathrooms were modern, very clean, and well……

“We arrived slightly earlier but Derek had left the house key in door for us to let ourselves in. He called later to check everything was OK and showed us how to open the hottub lid . It was all ready to jump in and very warm. Cottage was modern and everything needed was provided, towels, bathrobes for hottub, cutlery and plates etc. Excellent front garden for playing football with our son. Overall couldn't fault it and had a relaxing stay.”

“The period furnishings and decor in the lounges were very impressive. Some areas of the property are looking a little tired, but the Cally Palace have an abundance of excellent staff. They were all so friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble for them - definitely 5* staff. We had a lovely large bedroom, with great views at the rear. We had four evening meals in the dining room which were really good and the Cullen skink was excellent. Cally Palace was a great base for our four day……
