“We enjoyed the well equipped room with a comfortable bed. We ate in the restaurant which had plenty of atmosphere on a Monday night in May. Good choice on the restaurant menu and excellent breakfast. Lots of stairs to climb to our room but we made it😊”

“We were in room 3 which was huge, it comprised of a small sitting room, bathroom and large bedroom. Bed was very comfortable, room spotless, tv in both sitting room and bedroom. Small fridge in the sitting room with milk and chilled water which was very welcome as it was extremely hot. Breakfast was lovely, good portions, and all the staff were fantastic. We ate dinner both nights and again food was beautiful and portions were big. Excellent stay, absolute little gem of of a pub, the……

“What an absolute lovely stay. Very simple yet very well executed. The dinner was absolutely delicious, really mesmerizing, don’t skip it! Breakfast was included and it was amazing!!!”

“Great rural location (i am not a golfer), really nice room, clean and comfortable and reasonably stylish. Only let downs were; paper thin walls so could hear quiet conversations in the adjacent rooms, and a noisy shower (neighbour showered at 1am!). it was a heatwave; room fans were provided but it would have been good to fully ventilate the rooms. Due to work commitments i had to leave before breakfast so can't comment on that.”

“Fabulous stay at the Sleeping Bear hotels in Dorchester. All of the staff were amazing and the rooms were lovely and really comfortable. Booking the parking in the hotel car park was easy and worthwhile”

“The breakfast was, I’d say, better than in a Hotel Ibis. The food was, definitely, locally sourced. We reached Bruton and the Hauser & Wirth arts complex easily from this hotel. We also visited the Jurassic Coast, but that took us a whole day, and we returned by 10pm.”

“Bit of an issue getting into the property as we arrived quite late but thought the pub would still be open. Sorted out quickly without a problem though. Room was really good, comfortable, clean with all we needed for a good night's sleep. Owner seems to have considered what was required really well. Breakfast was excellent & catered for all tastes. Staff friendly & helpful. Would stay again.”
