Unfortunately, the female receptionist rudely informed me that I would be charged a late fee for being less than 30 minutes past the check-out time. The manner in which this was communicated was unprofessional and dismissive. As a frequent traveler, I understand the importance of adhering to policies, but I also expect courteous and respectful service. This encounter left a negative impression and detracted from an otherwise enjoyable stay. I hope the management addresses this issue to ensure better customer service in the future. Please also be reminded there are few rooms required to walk down by stairs. It's right across from the mall complete with Macy's, Whole Foods and other great restaurants. This is right smack the middle of the peninsula between Carmel Pacific Grove and other areas, cuts down on your mileage. It's relatively quiet. It's a clean place, parking is very easy. Not fancy, but adequate. Only issue I have is that the rooms are very small. They used to have a little table and chairs in them, but no more. They do have a fridge and microwave. Otherwise very clean and nice. The room was clean. The tv had great reception and picture so watching the Olympics at night was really fun. It is a 2-star accommodation, so while it is not a 5-star resort, the staff clearly take pride in this inn and keep it very clean. A perfect location—easy to get downtown, hop on PCH 1, or go to Whole Foods two minutes up the street.
