Overall the place was great. We blew a fuse and couldn’t find the rest box owner’s responded and had fixed. Second bed was not described as air mattress, while it was a nice one, just not what I had expected.

Home away from home
My husband and I needed to get out of the suburbs and away from the businesses we each run for a mental vacation and to invest in each other. We often come back to my hometown area for its quiet, serene setting and culture of artisans and hospitality. Graham and Nancy’s getaway felt like home without the work. The home is comfortable, clean, and simply adorable with the decor and plants. It was life-giving! Perfect for us-And perfect for your getaway too!

Great house in small town America
I came to visit my aunt and cousins who live in Mt Carroll. Everyne was impressed by the house. Only one block from bowling alley. Another block to Charlies bar. Great kitchen, big living room, and comfortable bed. What else is needed for a fabulous stay.

Coming Home
Coming home to Mt. Carroll for my 50th Class Reunion (Class of 1971) was a delight, especially to stay in such an iconic and stately home on Main Street, close to everything. Our hosts, Nancy & Grant, were spontaneous to all our questions and needs. Super CLEAN, comfortable and welcoming. Just like coming HOME, where I grew up. They have invested their time, heart and soul in a community and hometown that I love and thank them for their care and consideration to detail and guests' needs. Main Street Place is a gem.

Property was very nice, very clean, and super cute. Close to downtown and only a block from the bowling alley which has awesome pizza take-out. Fridge was stocked with drinks; counter stocked with snacks. 10/10!!!!!

Wonderful home in great location.
We had a great stay with walking distance to downtown Mt. Carroll. Our unit was clean and it looked just as good as the pictures. We will definitely stay here again if our travels take us back through this part of Illinois!

Too Notch experience
This was a wonderful and quaint property. The hosts were extremely responsive and helpful and the experience was definitely a positive one. They left very thoughtful touches and amenities and had everything we needed right there. The property also had high quality furnishings that were very appreciated. The air bed for the second bed for example was high quality and very comfortable, bedding was clean and high quality, the kitchen was clean and had everything we might need and the tv was nice and easy to use.

We were moved from the main floor to a second floor unit because of a double booking which was no trouble. However, There was absolutely no privacy at all in the second floor unit. and from the foyer you could see into our bedroom. We walked gingerly in respect for the people below us. You could hear each other pretty clearly. Missing some amenities such as wash cloths and a toaster, but not a huge deal. Hardest part of you’re a couple looking fir a romantic weekend is that we could hear every word spoken from the guests below us. Owners are kind and responsive. Very cutely appointed in retro decor… but couch and chairs were very uncomfortable for more than 20-30 minutes.

Clean, quiet stay
We were visiting family in Lanark for the weekend. This was a good accommodation for us. It is a lovely apartment and I really like all the live plants. We would suggest getting us the address a few days earlier. Also we did not find any instructions about whether to strip beds, run the dishwasher, how the TV works and so forth. That may be helpful. Also there was no dishwashing detergent in the apartment. Nor any glasses or wine glasses or wine bottle opener. These are not deal breakers, just suggestions. Otherwise it was a comfortable stay.
