“I was a completely unplanned visitor who trekked the moors at night to reach the Inn. Though the only thing that happened on the moors was fulfilling an American's silly Holmesian fantasy of walking the moors at night, everyone was concerned for my safety and I really appreciated that. My stay was wonderful, the food was really delicious, and everyone with whom I spoke was just up-front and pleasant. I will be back some day and guess where I'll stay?”

“This tiny Inn is definitely worth a visit! The new owners were very friendly and welcoming and the room was comfortable and very clean. The history of the building meant that the bar is tiny, but very welcoming - we spent a great evening drinking and chatting with locals. Fourstones Lime Kilns. These are the remains of a 19th century lime kiln. This large example contains at least four separate lime kilns. Limestone was built in kilns such as this to produce lime, which was used to make cement or improve soil quality. What a shame there is so much rubbish in front of this lime kiln. This is an important piece of industrial heritage and should be respected as much as more high profile ancient monuments.
