“The rooms are advertised as luxury but in my single room there wasn’t a wardrobe or any coat hangers just a cluster of about three hooks hinged together. The food in the Henry VIII restaurant left a lot to be desired only ate the evening meal there on one occasion out of a 4 night stay, the fish and chips were very fatty and the chips were nearly black. Regards to the breakfast over the 4 mornings the fried eggs were always cremated as was the bacon, on one morning I had a poached egg which……

“Disappointing one night stop over. Its more of a business traveller, conference & private events venue than a country house hotel. Suite 15 is directly opposite the kitchen extractor fan which is on from before 5.00am until the kitchen closes at night & can easily be heard in the room. The room only had one bedside table & lamp, the glazed entrance is fitted with opaque glass & is the only window so there is no view. If you could see out you would be looking at the car park. “If you are visiting Sheffield you can’t go wrong with a stay at this hotel. So easy into sheffield( we were at the Arena) lovely and clean and new. Fab staff and service and food was great in restaurant.”

“We stayed at Woodhall hotel and spa for 4 nights in the lodges. There was not much natural light entering the room and noise can be heard from the adjoining room The building could do with some refurbishment The views and gardens are beautiful The staff were really excellent and nothing was too much trouble The food was equally good with some fabulous combinations and flavours and, they have an interesting wine list, if slightly on the pricey side. Overall we enjoyed our stay. Thank you”

“Nice place above a nice bar. Had some food and it was fine and a few drinks. Nice atmosphere and well situated in the town. Room was fine, settee was a bit big for the room but you can see what they are trying to do. Young woman who showed us round was nice and so too the young woman at breakfast.”
