“From the time we tried to check-in the woman that greeted us was aggressive and told us to wait in the waiting lounge. Then we could check-in Declan told us that we needed to pay for our accommodation but when I told that I had paid he took our documents and did not return them. We had a two stay and consequently left without documents. On contacting the hotel we were told the only wat to retrieve our was to send a self-envelope and they would send them to us. That wasn't suitable in the frame……
“We only stayed one night here to break our journey south, but would be more than happy to stay here again. Lovely good sized room with air conditioning which was great as it was 35C. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. We ate in the Jacobite restaurant which had a good selection of meals on offer. We had a lovely breakfast the next morning with plenty of choices available.”
“The Kiln Hotel in Wakefield has the look and feel of a run down American Motel that has been abandoned several decades ago.
Desperately in need of refurbishment it appears that the new owners have not made any improvements since taking over from Campanile Hotels.
The room I stayed in for 1 night looked as if it had not been decorated for 20 years and still had a lingering odour of Cigarette smoke. Whilst the bed linen was clean the base was full of stains and filthy.
