"I call this hotel the old bait and switch. The name, the picture of the lobby and pictures of the rooms taken at just the right angle lead you to believe this is a quality hotel…it’s NOT! The cost of the hotel was no where near worth it!! The lobby looks nice but the smell hits you as soon as you hit the door. The rooms are very small and outdated! The bathroom is like a powder room, but with a shower, and the sink is outside the bathroom. The shower is small…just gross. I don’t have the words to describe it. Then the ugly green wall behind the sink had green bugs that blended in with the paint. That was enough for us…we checked out! NOW…let me add that we drive over 3 hours for a graduation ceremony, so once we arrived in the room and tried to recover from the shock of its appearance, we had just enough time to shower and get to the ceremony. My husband killed one of the green bugs while I was showering and my daughter pointed out another to me while he was showering, so we decided to checkout. The lady at the front desk was very nice and understanding. We talked to someone from hotels.com who put in a refund request…which was denied. No monetary compensation was offered at all, even after sending a picture of the green bug to manager, who had every excuse why he couldn’t give a friend! We paid to stay elsewhere and it was MUCH nicer, cleaner AND a lot cheaper. If you have absolutely no place to say, I say stay in your care before staying here!"

"I have very high expectations when deciding on a vacation rental. Unfortunately, it seems, I need to lower my expectations to avoid disappointment. I discovered that the indoor pool and hot tub was closed.(I traveled 500 miles there for my vacation) I was informed only after finding the door locked with a note on it, then inquiring at the front desk was told it was scheduled for maintenance, which had been planned for some time, and would not be accessible for at least a week. Apparently this information had been published to the Choice hotel website but not Expedia. I was told that I would have been notified but they did but gave my information to do so. I did receive some choice points to offset my inconvenience and disappointment. However, I will not get another chance for a vacation until next year so this really didn’t compensate me for my vacation that I did not get to fully enjoy. They offered the outdoor pool, but the weather was cold with 25 mph wind gusts, so that wasn’t an option for me. My advice is to double check the actual website not just Expedia since all the information isn’t always available on their site. Aside from that, the hotel was fine. It seemed clean and the breakfast was good. Parking lot was large and the hotel was in a good area to walk around and look at the Bay, if the weather is good."
