Translators Cottage: Family-friendly Stay in Lancaster County

Reserve this cute cottage as home-base for your tour of Lancaster County. Prepare meals in the modern kitchen while your children enjoy the backyard and swings. This country home has easy access to Route 222 and the PA Turnpike making it a quick drive from many attractions. Take in the farmland view from the backyard, or stroll to Springside chip-and-putt golf just up the road. Antiquing in Adamstown (the antique capital) is only 10 minutes away. Or go hiking and bird-watching at Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area.

Although there is no TV, free Wi-Fi is provided. Or unplug and enjoy the games and books!

Notice: The stairs are classic (very steep). Those with poor balance should not plan on sleeping on the second story.

For your safety, there are cameras monitoring the driveway front and rear, and the front entry. There are no cameras inside.

This is the prior home of a family on a Bible Translation project in Mexico. Enjoy their cozy home while supporting their mission!

Lovely place to stay with family

We traveled from NJ, with family members from overseas, for a trip to Hershey's and Lancaster. We stayed a night at Dean and Christine's lovely home. They had thought of everything and made our stay very comfortable. The house was spotless. They provided us with sourdough cinnamon rolls, bottled water, snacks, and soda, which I have to say was very thoughtful and considerate of them. Their backyard is beautiful, and we enjoyed the fireflies after dark. Overall, our stay was lovely, comfortable, and relaxing. Thank you, Dean and Cristine.

Beautifully maintained house and property and the hosts lefts such wonderful touches as homemade baked goods and little bags of snacks that my toddler thoroughly enjoyed! I would definitely stay at this wonderful house again!

Comfortable For Families

Lots of amenities that are helpful for families. The kitchen is beautifully updated. The firewood provided was great for evening campfires. We appreciated the big dining room and the parking spot behind the house.

This place was a very welcoming and cozy place to stay. Beds were very comfortable, coffee was delicious and the treat for everyone in the morning was delicious with with our coffee 😊. Communication with property manager was very good and quick responses. Would definitely stay again!

Heaven on earth

We came to the cottage for a church conference event with some of our family. We were blown away by the house! Every detail was thought of specially if you have children! This was such a peaceful home! We also loved reading the story of the home owners and their family! I can’t wait to stay here again! Ps the cinnamon rolls were amazing!!

Unforgettable Family Getaway with Excellent Host!

Our stay at this VRBO home in Lancaster was an absolute delight from start to finish! The communication with the host before and during our stay was exceptional, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience. The kids' playground and spacious backyard were a hit, and we enjoyed a cozy campfire every night. The house was immaculate and had plenty of room for everyone. A huge bonus was the assortment of toys that kept the kids entertained – they especially loved the hammock in the living room, practically living on it! This property exceeded our expectations in every way and made for an unforgettable family getaway. We can't wait to come back!

Wonderful property run by wonderful couple

Where to begin? We wanted a place to stay that was clean, quiet and a bit off a beaten path. Did we score with this place! The couple managing this place were welcoming in the extreme. They were helpful they were courteous and they were friendly. I couldn't ask for anything more. The property was incredible. It was cleaner than I could have imagined and homie. They had made some cinnamon rolls for us that were delicious, there were nice touches of home and care all over the place and it was greatly appreciated. I couldn't give this place a higher rating and if we come back to Lancaster county I guarantee we will be staying here. That said there were a couple things that I would suggest. First they need to work on the stock of the kitchen just a bit: a strainer would be very nice for pasta, sugar and a few other essentials. A desk or chest of drawers in the downstairs bedroom would have been greatly appreciated. But that really is about it. Other than those minor things this place was an absolute pleasure to stay at and I think the couple greatly for our stay.

Wonderful Place to Stay

Wonderful Cottage

This cottage is super cute and very nice for a getaway. We stayed to go to Shocktober and it was a perfect place as it was less than 15 minutes from the house. It was clean and the hosts left plenty of snacks and water for us. I would highly recommend this place.
