"The picture of the full kitchen on the website was the kitchen for the family that lived upstairs only. The place we stayed was a basement apartment, which was not stated on the VRBO site. The microwave had cooked crumbs in it. The dish drainer was dirty and had a dirty coffee cup in it. "A Beautiful Property with Excellent Service! We stayed at the Spencer Hotel for five days while my daughter attended a camp at Western University, and we couldn’t have been happier with our stay. The property is beautiful, peaceful, and very well maintained. One of the biggest advantages for us was the location. It was only about a 5–7 minute peaceful drive to Western University, which allowed us to completely avoid the downtown area and much of the construction. It made getting to and from camp incredibly easy and stress-free. The service throughout the hotel was excellent. Vic at reception was especially friendly, welcoming, and accommodating, and the other staff members we encountered were also incredibly helpful and pleasant. I unfortunately didn’t get everyone’s names, but every interaction we had with the staff was positive. We also enjoyed both the breakfast buffet and dinner at Asher’s, the hotel restaurant. The food was excellent, and the service was just as impressive as the rest of the hotel. Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed for our five-night stay. Overall, the combination of the beautiful property, peaceful location, comfortable rooms, wonderful restaurant, and exceptional service made this a fantastic experience. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend the Spencer Hotel! :::"

Spacious Pool House – 5 Minutes to Elgin Centre

"The inside of the house was very clean, very well appointed, the kitchen was new, and the appliances worked great.The host was very speedy on returning inquiries and kept us informed about the check in and check out process. There was plenty of closet storage space, clean towels, and the kitchen had everything we needed, except we found it a little sparse on glassware, and the dining room table chairs were extremely uncomfortable as they sagged in the middle.The mattresses were extremely hard, but the linens and pillows were clean and crisp.The dishwasher was out of commission on the day we arrived, however, we were immediate informed of that as soon as we arrived. The backyard is very spacious with lots of cozy sitting areas, a fire pit, trampoline, kids play area and a sunroom. The interlocking brick in some areas was raised up, creating trip hazards and there were weeds growing everywhere. The landscaping in the backyard needs some improvement, but we were very thankful for the pool during some very humid days. We found the price for this property very reasonable, if you are not looking for perfection. We also loved the location as it was closer to the outskirts of St. Thomas and a very short drive to the Elgin Centre as well as Port Stanley."
