"The room was decent. Our room door was missing the little thing that prevented people from opening the door but the bed was comfy."

"Unfortunately, there was a bus load of middle schoolers staying at the motel. They were running the halls, knocking on one another’s doors, and talking loudly in the halls until after 10pm. Breakfast was a bit of a zoo. The clerk at check-in recommended an early breakfast (like 6-7pm), but after a 11 hour road trip, we wanted to sleep in the next morning. Between all of the eating and moving their luggage downstairs, it was very busy! I will call the hotel directly next time and ask if a large group is booked for the night we plan to travel. If so, we will choose another place."

"Enjoyed the stay. All was as advertised (had to leave too early to enjoy breakfast). My only issue was lack of a built-in closet - not adequate for more than one person. I would stay again. Thanks to the lovely staff."

"I am more unhappy with Expedia than the Drury Inn regarding this visit. The Drury Inn @ Grandview is undergoing a MAJOR RENOVATION and Expedia failed to inform me. I would have NEVER booked and paid full price to stay there during this time had I been made aware. I was informed by the front desk the day before arrival, and after the cancellation deadline had passed, when I called to inquire about an early check in. The whole point of staying overnight was to check in the hotel and get rest & sleep after having had an outpatient procedure. The renovation is being done from 8am to 6 pm. Our room was already completed and was very roomy and nice. No complaint there. It was just the constant drilling & work as I was trying to recuperate. Again I am not complaining about the hotel or the renovation but that Expedia did not inform me and charged me the entire amount. I have always been very satisfied at the Drury Inn @ Grandview and know it will be very nice when the work is completed. Expedia do better!"

"It is so sad to see how this Embassy location has gone ‘down hill’ since I lived there in Homewood Alabama. This is the place I had my Rehearsal Dinner many years ago and now won’t stay there again. The floors (every one of them) were filthy, literally and every glass door, window and glass bannister/wall were dirty/filthy. The water/pond that the dish were in was low and the fish could hardly turn around. The staff did the best they could (pleasant) but could tell very low staff (same people there each day) totally multitasking at desk then having to go upstairs to make beds for customers…. The pot smoking group on premises (across from front door/lot) was so strong. Could smell from inside my car w/windows up then smelled from inside the filmy/glass elevators. The front desk person was very helpful (the be multitasking…) when our room was very warm and asked the maintenance man to go switch the old system to A/C from Heat. And the young man and ‘fist-bump’ parking guys were welcoming and pleasant. I was excited to show my daughter memories of where I lived there but this Embassy Suites was Not up to others. You may want to address and remedy this so others’ experience will be better. Especially in such a charming Homewood area of Birmingham Alabama."
