“The host and hostess were very welcoming and friendly. The room was spacious and clean. Parking was in the property forecourt. The breakfast was well prepared and plentiful. The only issue was finding somewhere to dine. The local hotel could not accommodate us on the two occasions that we tried. The nearest was either Northern Sands or Castletown hotel both of which were a number of miles away.”

“Great stay here. We liked everything about the property. Beautiful view from our room. The restaurant was top notch and the staff (thumbs up to Chris) was very friendly and efficient. We even experienced a Scottish wake being held in the bar for a local celebrity. Highly recommend.”

“Dinner was good, breakfast was very good. Bathroom very spacious with excellent shower. Unfortunately there were no shelves for any toiletries. Staff were very attentive and friendly. My only criticism is that we paid for a superior room, but it didn’t feel or look superior. It was on the ground floor with two windows facing Main Street, so the blinds were closed to avoid people looking in. For a standard room that would have been ok, but not for a superior room. It was also very small: there……

“Had a great stay at Wayne’s lodge. The property was beautiful, scenic, well kept. The cabin has all the comforts you could ask for and Wayne was friendly and helpful. Recommended!”

“Jane is friendly and sincere. We were impressed by her welcome tea while we did the check in. She actively provided advice on the choice of restaurants in the area and helped us book a table for dinner at Northern Sands. Jane and Richard are nice guys with their lovely cat, Lona. We did have a happy time there. Cheers.”

“The Pentland is a charming place but the cleaning staff was shorthanded. My bathroom needed a heavy clean. (they never did scrub the floor.) The breakfast is very nice and the restaurant is also very good. The location is great for to and from walking from the train.”

“We had an overnight stop at this hotel because we couldnt find accommodation closer to the NC 500 due to inflated cost/availability. The Alnaharra Hotel was very nicely situated although it was well off the beaten track for us. We had the Teal & Blue bedroom which was clean, tidy and nicely decorated. The bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was extra, but very nice when it eventually arrived having waited an hour for it to be served. I think maybe the hotel was short staffed.”

“Auf den ersten Blick wenig Raum. Dieser ist aber durchdacht eingerichtet und somit für einen kurzen Aufenthalt gut geeignet. Was fehlt ist Stauraum fürs Gepäck. Das muss im Auto bleiben.”
