The first room was an insult! The second room was ok. We had stayed here before the place was renovated and they seem to have halved the rooms!
Staff not interested apart from the receptionist who sorted a different room for us.
Breakfast, however, was excellent.

Hotel Hastal is a true gem in Old Town Prague and the last remaining family-owned hotel in the area. We stayed just before New Year’s Eve, and the location was excellent—quiet yet only a 7–8 minute walk to the Astronomical Clock, with the added convenience of taxis being able to drop you off directly in front.
From the moment we arrived, the hospitality stood out. We were greeted by Tom, the nephew of the owner, whose warmth and positivity immediately set the tone for our stay. Breakfast was included and very good, and the hotel surprised us with a bottle of Prosecco and a cookie for New Year’s—a thoughtful touch.
There’s a comfortable lounge and dining area, complimentary coffee and tea available all day, and even house-made liqueur and wine for guests. We were also lucky to experience the final day of the hotel’s charming Banker’s Bar before it closed, and the staff there were phenomenal.
If you want to support a local, family-run business and enjoy genuine hospitality in Old Town Prague, I highly recommend Hotel Hastal.
