From check-in with Elizabeth, to greetings in the lobby from staff, the beach workers and particularly the hosts/servers at the breakfast buffet, it made for a wonderful time. Room faced the ocean and made for a pleasant unwinding time sitting on the balcony at the end of the day. Would recommend this resort to anyone going to PR. (Caveat: be prepared for resort fee and local room tax not listed in the room price.)"

"After looking at a number of places to stay for our 20th anniversary, we settled on the Royal Sonesta. This place was absolutely amazing, very nice and clean, with kind and welcoming staff. It's right on the beach, with loungers and umbrellas available for hotel guests. There's a bar and restaurant right on the beach as well. The food and drinks were very good, and the swim up bar was nice once it reopened 5 days into our 7 days stay. If I were to note some areas for improvement, I would start with the refrigerator in our room. It kept freezing items we put into it, even at the lowest setting. Meals and drinks at the hotel proved to be too expensive for us after only a few days, so we stopped at a grocery store for supplies. However we ended up with frozen yogurt and fruit in the morning after placing those items in the refrigerator. The USB ports built into the furniture also did not work for charging at all. Additionally only 2 of the 3 elevators worked the entire time we were there. Beyond that, I greatly enjoyed our stay here. Every staff member I met was warm and kind, our room and all the facilities were clean and beautiful with so much greenery around."

"I would stay here again without a doubt! We rented a car but didn’t need it during our stay in Old San Juan. Everything was within walking distance. There are plenty of dining options for all times of day just crossing the street. The hotel was very pleasant, beyond my expectations. We stayed in a suite, which was quite spacious for our 4-people family. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. I just can’t say enough good thing things about Hotel Rumbao. "
