"We stayed at the Admiral Sims on Catherine St. and it was great! The house and property were beautiful and in a good location. Easy walk to the beach, and a little bit longer into downtown Newport but it is doable. Next time we come back we will definitely be bringing our dog!"

"This is our second year staying at this house. We are 10 adults and 5 young children. This is a GREAT house. It is roomy and clean. It has two living rooms that can be separated by French pocket doors. It has THREE (3) refrigerators which we used with such a big group. The kitchen is generously equipped, the 2nd floor balcony is roomy with lots of chairs. Generous amounts of dish detergent, dishwasher detergent, paper towels and toilet paper are supplied. Large capacity washer and dryer got lots of use. Very close to Scarborough Beach and Roger Wheeler Beach is not far. There are 3 bedrooms on the first level, living spaces on the second level, and 3 more bedrooms on the third level which made it easy to separate early-rising youngsters from sleeping-in adults. Check-in is a breeze and Darius responds to queries very promptly. Absolutely 5 stars!"

"We had a fantastic stay at "The Wakefield". Our extended family of 15 people from ages of 18 to 90 and two small dogs had a fabulous time. The location was fantastic. It is within a couple blocks of downtown Wakefield with its cute shops, art studios, WWII museum and Brinkley's ice cream and it is just a half-hour to Newport for fun day excursions, and within 10 minutes to some wonderful RI Beaches. The house provides an ample supply of beach towels and chairs too. The house was extremely clean, and the AC worked wonderfully with multiple zones. The kitchen had everything we needed to do a few family meals, and the barbeque grill worked great. The spaces in the house and the carriage house gave everyone wonderful places to gather and to have alone time space when needed. Robin, the house manager, was extremely responsive during our stay and got back to us regarding any questions we had instantly. One of the past reviews on here recommended to bring your own pillows if you are particular, and many of us did do that. The first-floor bathroom was handicap accessible with a roll-in shower and safety bars which worked very well for our family members in their 80s/90s. Overall, it was fantastic place to stay and a great location for a family vacation."

"My family and I had a wonderful week at this location. The house was clean and comfortable. We spent a lot of time in the pool. Michael,our host, was fantastic he checked in a few times to make sure everything was ok. Would definitely stay here again"
"Rooms feel a bit damp even with AC on. Perhaps small dehumidifiers would help.
As for the rooms basic but nice. Small fridge with actual freezer so you can buy ice cream for later. Small ice cream and food place I don't think they have an indoor place but they have picnic tables and umbrellas.
Shower had built in bench great for getting sand from between toes. Staff was wonderful. This was our second year going. Just so you know out of state is only $12 for any of the beaches. If you walk on it's free .
Being a smoker it was nice to have chairs outside each room with a table and ashtray.
All things considered great quiet place to stay.."

"Loved this property! Clean, incredibly spacious, great location. Communication with Robin was fantastic, she went above and beyond during our stay. House is very well stocked. Plenty of bath and beach towels, chairs, umbrellas. Our group agreed the house felt much bigger than it did in photos. The addition over the garage is perfect for some added privacy while not being inaccessible from the rest of the group. Would recommend this place! "

"Beautiful house! It has everything we needed and fit our family perfectly. Has a wonderful, comfortable sectional in the living room and a very nice sized dining room table. Kitchen was great. Deck has great tables and chairs with plenty of shade. The front patio is very nice and a great place to read, have coffee or a cocktail. The bedrooms all have nice queen sized beds. Check-in was a breeze. Kathy and John are such nice hosts and were extremely accommodating. Can’t wait until next year!!"

"To be honest, we had an incredible time during our stay! The location is perfect, within walking distance to everything—great coffee spots, shopping, amazing restaurants, and the beach! The house itself has all the amenities you could ask for, including a ton of games, a gym, and a sauna. If you’re looking for a relaxing vacation, this place is perfect. We will definitely be back!"

"Great place to say … three bedrooms….slept six perfectly… walked to Narragansett town beach very easy walk literally 0.7 miles…drive and parked due to chairs/umbrellas etc…clean…. Large dining table for eating or to play games… air conditioners in all rooms kept place nice and cold which is sooo valuable! Great communication with owners with my questions. Would definitely recommend!!"

"The location was great! Neighborhood was quiet and you can walk around in the evenings and look out on a beautiful inlet. The yard was private and quite large! We had some issues with the cleanliness of the property, (mostly floors and walls) The pillows were old and stained. The beds were uncomfortable and you could feel and hear the springs. We had seen older reviews from a few years ago where people said the beds were uncomfortable so we thought the owners would have addressed this issue but the beds have not changed. The property manager Nancy however, was super responsive. She brought us new pillows and memory foam mattress pads. We were so happy that this property is dog friendly and we didn’t have to leave our pup at home. I would have given this property an higher rating if the beds were new and it had a deep clean. The property is also in need of some updating, but overall we had a relaxing vacation."

"This was our eleventh biennial get-together with college friends, and everyone thought this was one of the best lodging experiences we have had. It's difficult to find accommodations for 16 people, and this one had it all. The property is well-maintained with plenty of room for everyone and offers a variety of conversation areas as well as little nooks to enjoy a bit of private time. The property is perfectly located within easy driving distance to most of Narragansett's attractions, beaches, shopping locations, and restaurants... even the Block Island Ferry Terminal is just minutes away! Our Host, Kathryn, was wonderful... she's accommodating, communicative, and personable. If you'll have us, we'd love to return, Kathryn!"

"We visited as a family of 6 (2 kids, 2 grandparents, 2 parents). The house has been tastefully renovated and was comfortably furnished. The kitchen had what we needed for making breakfasts and lunches (we went out for dinners). The house is cozy but plenty of space for the group we had. Low ceilings upstairs add charm but may be an issue for some. None of us are tall so we weren’t bothered. Lovely view from the deck/backyard and from the two queen rooms upstairs. Plenty of beach chairs and carts/wagon/umbrellas. We had an issue with the umbrellas that were there being in disrepair and not functional. One note to Robin and they were promptly replaced with four brand new sturdy beach umbrellas. She even brought a new beach cart over when she noted that the existing one had seen better days. I can’t say enough about her prompt communication and obvious care that our stay should be pleasant and easy. The backyard was beautifully landscaped and made an excellent backdrop for a few impromptu family photos with the lovely hydrangeas. The real draw for this house is the location - a very short flat walk to the beach across the street and an easy drive to many nice restaurants."
