"Rented for our son’s civil ceremony, it was the perfect home base to have as we spent time in Luray and hiked Shenendoah. The host was incredibly gracious. She even came out and mowed the yard so we could have pictures out there! "
"We had a great time at the Roundhead Mountain Cabin. The hot tub sunset views were spectacular! The cabin was clean, well-equipped, and cozy. The only caution I can offer is the road up to the cabin -- It rained on us one day, and even in a 4x4 SUV, it was an intense effort to get up and down from the cabin due to the ruts on the dirt road. The communication from the property manager was immediate and helpful with a problem we experienced. I would stay here again if we go out to the area."

"I highly recommend Shenandoah Hideaway. I stayed there with 3 friends for a weekend getaway of long distance hiking in the park. The location is very close to the park and the AT. The place has been updated and is very clean. The kitchen had everything we needed to make big dinners and breakfasts to fuel our long day of hiking. The patio is gorgeous and view is absolutely stunning which was a great way to start and end your day. This place is a gem and I plan on returning again for another weekend of hiking. "

"We were having a family gathering in the mountains. We really appreciated this large home. This included five couples. Everyone had their own room. All beds were king or queen. There were several bathrooms, great kitchen, living and dining rooms for gathering. A grocery store was a very short drive away. The neighborhood was quiet and nice. Internet was reliable. Air conditioning worked well. There were three stories, but the stairs were no problem for us. We absolutely would stay here again. "

Lots of toys for the lil ones and pack play was super helpful. Very close to Luray and fort valley ranch for horseback rides. The host was super responsive, thank you! "

"Very nice place. Cute cabin with lovely views. The fire pit are with a covered couch swing is great for evenings. If you are an early riser, there are nice sunrise views of the mountains. Enclosed property so you feel safe at night. We even dozed off one night on the swing looking at the stars. Hot tub was good and seemed well cared for. Landscaping is nice.Cabin itself was clean with updated fixtures and a good kitchen. We did see a few wasps by the deck. It appears there are some traps and the owners are addressing the issue. We sprayed some mint and the wasps stayed away. Only other thing I would change is might bring my own grill. The one they have is like the older kind you see at a public park. Still, each their own. Overall a nice trip and would happily recommend to a friend."

"We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home in Shenandoah National Park! The house is very big and spacious—even more than it appears in the pictures. It’s tucked away in the mountains, offering stunning views, especially in the morning. Just be aware that the house is located off a non-paved road, so it’s best to arrive before dark, as the drive can be tricky at night.The location is very close to Luray Caverns, which made day trips super convenient. The play area and hot tub were great additions, especially for families or groups looking to relax and have fun. The host was extremely responsive and helpful throughout our stay.The only minor drawback is that there’s no trash disposal nearby, so you’ll need to plan accordingly. Overall, an amazing experience—highly recommended for a peaceful mountain getaway!"

"Despite the clear lack of occupancy prior to our arrival and that we needed to 'set up' Ie. Put our own garbage bags in bins, toilet paper etc. the cottage was exactly as described, with the layout a little peculiar. The kitchen is in the upper apartment with the dining table in the lower apartment there was an issue with cleninless however both the rental manager and owner worded to address these with minimal delay. There is a fire pit outside which in summer is completely shaded by large trees and it was despite the head lovely to sit out there with a breeze making s'mores in the afternoon. Overall our stay was not perfect but has the ability to be. I would recommend for families or dual couples with older children who are comftorable sleeping separated from parents as there is no internal access between apartments and down stairs does not have a fridge. "

"This was a very comfortable home to stay in. We have a large family and it accommodated all of us. There were plenty of bathrooms, comfy beds, and the kitchen was spacious. All my kids played the arcade games. In addition there is a cute coffee shop across the street.The drive to Luray is very quick. We were also able to drive up to do some hikes in the Shenandoah National Forest several days. I would very much recommended staying here! We had a great time."
