"I loved the night time action hearing all the wildlife it was amazing. Having the bathroom outside was awkward but was trying new things and the second night i wanted a hot shower and it was nothing but cold water...my husband and I are plumbers and we take a look at the water heater and it wasnt staying lit...so we didnt even get to have a shower after sweating all day and going to the beach...pretty place but they need to take the money from the extra days i didnt stay there and possibly fix...

"This property fully deserves its near-perfect reviews. Plenty of space for our family of four, utilizing the pull-out futon and air mattress. Our kids loved the koi pond, finding giant frogs and snails around the lawn, and waking up to a rooster crowing. No air conditioning, but ceiling fans and open windows kept the unit cool enough even in June. Idyllic location, relatively short drive to Volcanoes NP or anything else on Hilo side. Very well stocked including full cabinet of beach gear....

"My family stayed here in late May. Communication with the owners/managers prior to coming was excellent and the directions for check in were easy to follow. The house is pretty secluded. You won’t see our hear anyone else. The only sounds are of nature. We enjoyed sitting on the large deck in the evening to listen to the frogs. "Location and ocean view was FANTASTIC. While it's not a 5-star/ $1000 per night hotel, it has everything you would need/ expect from an excellent beach house. We were only a group of 2, but the house easily could accommodate 6 people. Great jumping off point to see sites on this side of the island (Hilo, Volcano, towns that existed a few years ago but then were taken by lava).
