"Awesome and beautiful place."
Tropical Forest Retreat Near Ocean - Ho'ohauoli
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this home. Communication was excellent always (before arrival & during). We could not get the Television to work even though instructions were left. After leaving a message on the App there was a response very soon after I sent it and the owners arranged for a lovely gentleman to contact us by phone and then came out to take a look. It turned out it was the batteries were not working in the remote, which we suspected. I recommend this home for anyone looking for tranquil environment with space and good amenities. As I said “We thoroughly enjoyed our stay” and would return again. So thank you very much for great communication and your hospitality. Mahalo from Liz, Cindy & Scarlet."
Oceanfront Cottage in Scenic 'Old Hawaii' - Off-Grid, solar-powered property.
"The place was perfect. Gorgeous ocean veiw and wave sounds all night. A nice halfway point between Hilo and the national park"
Oceanfront Home w/Private Pool. USA Military & Fire - Repeat Guest Discount!
"This home is a 10!! Beautiful views. Wonderful Hawaiian touches. The ocean sounds to wake up to daily was the best! Here is why I’m giving it a 6-7.There was no lei greeting. It was leis in the refrigerator. I understand we were late due to commute so I let that go.The drive from Hilo airport almost 2 hours- lots of traffic. Just had hoped they had alerted to a time range-30 minute to 2 hours is accurate rsnge. First the code to get in incorrect however Connie the caretaker got back to me quickly. It was sweltering humidity when we arrived-96%Opening Windows would have helped. When I emailed owner re: commute, humidity, she turned it around on me.I felt undermined. The weather is absolutely not her fault. But the way she responded was not good."

"The house was overall good. Very clean. It was just the wife and me, so very accommodating for us; however, the living room only has a couch and one chair (seating for 4) . . . otherwise, bar stools and kitchen chairs would be needed for additional guest. The porch (lanai) area was excellent. Three ceiling fans in the living room and kitchen area but only two worked. The doorknob lock on the guess bathroom door needs fixing. If you use the guess bathroom and lock the door, the door is very difficult to unlock. It happened to me once, but after a few minutes, I was able to unlock it. The wife got locked in the bathroom and could not get it unlocked. I tried unlocking it from the outside and that didn't work. Finally, I slid a butter knife under the door, and she used it to pry back the latching mechanism and was finally able to open the door. Air conditioning only in the master bedroom makes it very comfortable at night to sleep. Beware that the ac unit's power comes from the circuit breaker that powers the bedroom. The wife used a hair dryer when the ac was on, and the circuit breaker tripped. The rest of the house can get very stuffy if there is no breeze coming off the ocean during July. The owner is very, very nice, pleasant, and communicates very well either by messaging or phone. All of the appliances work as best as we can remember. The laundry room is outside the master bed behind the garage."
50' from the ocean, full ocean views from bedrooms & lanai
"20 day stay on the islands, this was our favorite place to stay at. Its kinda far from everything but oh, man you can't beat the views or the sound of the waves at night as you sleep. 10/10. Also, really liked the decor. Just a note though this is not wheelchair accessible nor is it accessible for anyone with severe physical disabilities. You have to go up 2 sets of stairs. Edit: just finished our vacation 20 nights, 3 islands and hands down our favorite property. Absolutely the winner of our trip. We had some genuinely amazing vrbos on this trip but being that close to the ocean, with those windows and that perfect porch just can't be beat."
Oceanfront studio see whales and dolphins
"This is an out-of-the-way gem (but easy to get to). Clean, and close to shore to hear waves crashing. Host was superb! Unit was smaller than expectation. Hard to use luggage rack and move around. Not so certainly about "see whales and dolphins" - but maybe it was wrong time of year. Checking and communication with host was great (5/5)!"
Kehena Mauka Nui LGBTQ Clothing Optional
"I have stayed here multiple times and have enjoy my stay every time. Only regret is that I need to get dressed when I leave. Bummer."
