The stay was a decent value. Excellent access to the beach - loved the little community porch facing the water. Hotel room had the basics we needed, nothing extra. The beds are uncomfortable - my partner was painfully stiff each day. The ice machine in our building was broken for the duration of our stay. The included breakfast was better than expected - boiled eggs, muffins, waffle making station and juices. Pool is far too cold to use in September, but was clean and kept up well. We had a private balcony, but it was within two feet of the ramp everyone uses for the beach. Overall, appreciated the beach proximity.

This hotel completely dropped the ball on our reservation. We went thought Expedia to book and that part was very easy. We checked in Thursday and everything went well. On Saturday at 3:45 we had a knock on our door demanding that we pack up immediate and move rooms. Apparently the room wasn’t available for the entirety of our trip and we were supposed to switch rooms half way through the stay. However, the front desk staff failed to tell us this when we checked in. We had no idea that the room wasn’t available for the whole weekend until that moment. We had to move 6 people, plus all of the food in the fridge to a different room with 20 minutes notice. We missed our dinner reservation because they told us we had no choice but to move right then. We paid full price for our stay, missed a dinner reservation, and got absolutely nothing from the hotel. It was terrible customer service, especially when it was their fault they didn’t tell us we would need to change rooms at check in. Very disappointing considering we only had 4 days in OBX and we had never been there before.
